Delta-9 Seltzers and why they’re a good choice!

Many people like to drink alcohol to relax, or smoke/eat forms of Delta products to relax as well. But what if you want an option that mixes both avenues without the hangover or extreme paranoia? In today’s article, we will discuss the topic of Delta-9 drinks, and how they can be a
new alternative to regular drinking.

Delta-9, What is it?
Delta-9 is a cannabinoid found naturally in the cannabis plant, being the more potent cannabinoids in the plant. For this reason, it is much easier and cheaper to extract it naturally. Even with some of the misconceptions of this compound, Delta-9 has been associated with a wide range of potential medical benefits. Such as anxiety, glaucoma, insomnia, low appetite, muscle spasticity, obstructive sleep apnea, nausea, & pain. Some manufacturers offer delta-9 products as a means of preventing symptoms of certain medical conditions or diseases. However, the FDA has approved only two synthetic THC formulations (dronabinol and nabilone), which are used to alleviate chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Nabilone is also used to increase appetite in patients with AIDS.

What could be some side effects?
Depending on several factors, including the amount and quality of delta-9 consumed, some side effects may include: Paranoia, heightened anxiety, sedation, confusion, dry mouth, feeling uneasy, unhappy or dissatisfied (dysphoria), & low blood pressure (hypotension). Even with this, when taken in smaller doses, can be very beneficial for your health.

So why try Delta-9 as a drink?
Delta 9 drinks have also recently become quite popular. They are a fun and convenient way to consume this cannabinoid and get its benefits. And in a way that some seem to feel makes it a more comfortable experience. According to research done on the product, it’s been shown that
consuming Delta-9 in a drink instead of a gummy makes it a more “mild experience”. This means that it is not as intense as if you’d consume it in a gummy. This happens due to the lack of 11 Hydroxy in the product. This also can mean that you are much less likely to experience
some of the side effects that can be associated with Delta-9. And with that, it’s also been shown that you can feel the effects faster, and then wear off faster. So, you don’t have to feel buzzed longer than you want to be. What makes this nice as well is that you won’t have that hangover feeling the next day, but still be able to have your mild buzz.

However you choose to consume Delta-9, or any other product, we always recommend doing your own research and consulting a health care professional if you have any questions or concerns. At AHS, we offer a wide variety of Delta-9, Kava, and alcohol free drinks so you can
explore more alternatives for yourself or a loved one.

Many people experience depression at least once in their lives. There is also a chunk of the population that experiences chronic depression that can last a few months, to a few years. Everyone experiences it differently and at different intensities, but that doesn’t mean we should put up with it and not have a solution. Depression can occur from having low serotonin levels. Serotonin is a powerful neurotransmitter that is responsible for regulating mood, sleep cycle, appetite, and digestion, among many other things. Low serotonin levels are known to cause Anxiety/Depression, aggression, impulsive behavior, insomnia, irritability, low self-esteem, poor appetite, and poor memory. While everyone treats their depression differently, we will be talking about how CBD and mushrooms can help as a treatment.

Let’s start with CBD and how it helps with depression:

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a type of natural compound known as cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are found in the cannabis plant. This plant can sometimes be called hemp or marijuana, depending on their level of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), another cannabinoid. Low serotonin levels are likely connected to depression. CBD doesn’t necessarily boost serotonin levels, but it may affect how your brain’s chemical receptors respond to the serotonin that’s already in your system. CBD works by naturally balancing endocannabinoids, which results in a healthy response to what you are experiencing. This may be of benefit to both anxiety and depression. Some research suggests that in addition to impacting the endocannabinoid system, cannabidiol may influence receptors involved in the modulation of serotonin. It is very important that you consult your primary care provider before taking CBD if you are currently taking medications to prevent any contraindications with any medications you might be taking.

Now let’s talk about mushrooms and how they are used for depression:

There’s a decent stigma with mushrooms that cause people to think they’re only for “getting messed up,” but it can actually be used for much more. Let’s talk about psilocybin for this article. Research has shown that psilocybin can reduce activity in the default mode network of the brain, which can be described as the brain’s “inner narrator that’s telling you you’re not good enough, you need to work harder, and you’re not loved.” As a result, it tames the negative thoughts that often run in the background during depression. It has been shown that psilocybin microdosing to be associated with improvements in mood and mental health, which adds to the growing body of research that suggests positive benefits of microdosing specifically in the domains of mental health and cognition.

As stated in another article we wrote, “Psilocybin works by activating serotonin receptors, most often in the prefrontal cortex. This part of the brain affects mood, cognition, and perception. Hallucinogens also work in other regions of the brain that regulate arousal and panic responses. Psilocybin does not always cause active visual or auditory hallucinations. Instead, it distorts how some people who use this product perceive objects and people already in their environment. The quantity of the product a person consumes, their past experiences, and their expectations of how the experience will take shape can all impact the effects of psilocybin.”
The main concern when doing any form of mushrooms is taking too much and causing a “trip.” Luckily, when mushrooms are microdosed (each type has to be dosed differently), they can be beneficial to mental health, and you can skip that stereotypical “trip” that most people talk about.

At AHS, we will be doing a seminar on microdosing and mushrooms to help teach more people how to treat their symptoms and improve their quality of life.

As for any form of treatment, we always recommend consulting a health care professional if you notice your symptoms getting worse or trying any new treatments. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, dial 911 or consult a suicide hotline.

I’m sure a lot of us out there have pets. Cats, dogs, birds, you name it. We love our pets, and they mean a lot to us and can feel like family. Sometimes they can have aches and pains, and even anxiety, just like we do. So, what do you do for them in situations where they are extremely anxious and need some relief? What if they are having medical problems and you don’t want to overload their system with different medications? At AHS, we are able to provide potential solutions for your pets. In this blog, we will be discussing CBD oil for dogs, and how it can benefit them and give them a better quality of life.

Let’s first talk about what exactly CBD is. CBD, also known as Cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis. Today, the medicinal properties of CBD are being tested by scientists and doctors all around the world and being shown to be very beneficial to both people and animals alike. CBD is a safe and non-addictive substance used to help with internal and external problems alike. CBD is closely related to another important medically active phytocannabinoid: THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the compound that causes a psychoactive effect that cannabis is famous for. Both CBD and THC have significant therapeutic attributes. Though CBD does not make a person feel “high” or intoxicated. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body. CBD can actually lessen or neutralize the psychoactive effects of THC, depending on how much of each compound is consumed. Many people want the health benefits of cannabis without the high, or with less of a high. What also makes this appealing is that, like for people, your dog will not get any form of high from the CBD, making it safe for them to consume. So, knowing what CBD is, we can talk more about how it can benefit your dog. The CBD oil is best ingested through their mouths and can be given to them through their food. Like tinctures/oil for humans, the oil for dogs will stay in their system for about 12 hours and works best when taken morning and night. This is so it can stay in their system all day and night. The oil can help with many different conditions.

Anxiety and Stress
Let’s start with anxiety and stress, and how the CBD helps with it. CBD has been extensively studied for its effect on stress and anxiety. In humans and animals alike, it’s been found to reduce anxiety in both healthy beings and those with anxiety disorders and can be effective in those with panic disorders and PTSD. This is helpful for dogs with higher levels of anxiety or are just prone to stress responses. It can help with cases anywhere from generalized anxiety to PTSD that can feel challenging to live with. This is due to how CBD connects to the brain and its receptors. When it connects to the brain, it slows the responses to panic and anxiety, allowing the dog to feel safer and more comfortable with their surroundings.

Seizures
CBD has also been shown to treat epilepsy and seizures. It’s estimated that about 5% of dogs suffer from seizures, and that can be scary for both the dog and the owner to experience. Most dogs with these conditions are on medications that, while able to help the conditions, can also be extremely harmful to the dog’s liver and other internal organs. And sometimes the medications don’t even do enough to combat said conditions. CBD has been shown to be effective in drug-resistant epilepsy. In one study, 83% of patients with drug resistant epilepsy saw a noticeable improvement within 4 -5 months of taking CBD on a routine schedule. In another study that was done for people that can apply for how well CBD works, 84% of children with treatment-resistant epilepsy who had been taking CBD had a reduction in
the frequency of seizures.

Pain and Inflammation
CBD is also a strong pain reliever in the body. So as mentioned before, CBD can connect to the brain’s receptors and slow down/lessen a response such as anxiety. This can also apply for pain! Scientists are considering CBD as a new class of medication as a treatment of chronic pain since the cannabinoids in CBD work so well for managing pain. Studies show that CBD is highly effective for a few different conditions. An example being decreasing pain, including neuropathy and nerve-related pain, this generally applies more to older dogs. And decreasing inflammation in the body, this can include internal (such as in the organs) or external (such as on the skin.) Animal studies show that CBD is effective is counteracting colitis (IBD) and restoring normal gut motility in IBD. CBD can also support Cardiovascular health and heart health. Studies show it can reduce the damage from impaired blood vessels and abnormal heart rates, protect blood vessels from damage and dilate the arteries, and reduce heart rate and blood pressure associated with stress and anxiety.

Arthritis
Along with CBD being good for pain and inflammation, that ties into how it can help with arthritis and hip dysplasia. Dogs are no different when it comes to the challenges that arise from aging. Joint problems especially become common in older dogs, which can lead to pain and having trouble with movement. Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness of one or more joints. The main symptoms of arthritis are joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. This can cause your dog to have trouble moving, they usually walk stiffly, and have inflammation and swelling in their joints. Just like people, dogs have cartilage at the ends of their bones within the joints that serve to cushion the impact between the bones as they move around. As dogs get older, this cartilage can erode and weaken, which can lead to inflammation and pain.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip dysplasia can affect any dog, but it’s more common in bigger breeds and is related to a mix of environmental and dietary factors. The health of dog hips is closely linked with the amount and type of exercise a dog gets in their lifetime. While often diagnosed with age, dysplasia is not necessarily limited to older dogs. The early stages of dysplasia can usually be traced to irregular growth rates in puppyhood. Hip dysplasia is usually genetic and begin as a puppy’s muscle mass and hormones increase during growth spurts. The hip is a ball and socket joint, which should move smoothly with a sufficient level of mobility. Dysplasia occurs when space opens up between the ball at the end of the femur and the socket of the hip. In dogs suffering dysplasia, the joint will be loose or underdeveloped, and the two elements will begin to grind against each other. Usually, owners will turn to surgeries or medications as a go to treatment, but luckily, CBD oil may become your new solution. CBD oil is more natural in its components and may be a safer option. Pet owners who are nervous about giving their pets medication often turn to natural alternatives. In the case of arthritis, CBD oil may also be a healthy solution for both human and dogs.

In both cases, CBD is able to reduce the amount of inflammation and pain felt in the body, giving your pet a better quality of life. Adding CBD to your pet’s treatment plan may be valuable with minimal risk to your pet. Several studies have shown that cannabidiol has powerful anti-inflammatory effects, both when taken orally or when applied topically on the skin. One study showed that CBD is so effective against the inflammation caused by osteoarthritis that it may even slow the progression of this degenerative disease by preventing the nerve damage caused by inflammation!

Depending on how you want to give care to your dog, why not give CBD a try? At AHS, we have specialists and a nurse on staff who can answer any questions you may have about CBD or treatment plans for your furry companion.

Delta-8 and Delta-9 are fairly new compounds in the CBD world. From a biological standpoint, Delta-8 and Delta-9 differ mostly due to the location of a double bind in their molecular chain. Delta-8 is a minor cannabinoid in hemp and cannabis plants, meaning it is found less abundantly than major cannabinoids like CBD or Delta-9. Though research containing cannabinoids in general is still fairly new but, we do
know some major factors that affect how these two variants of THC can impact users. Structure-wise, Delta-8 shares more in common with Delta-9 than it does with CBD. Although CBD is the second most abundant cannabinoid in the cannabis plant, it doesn’t have the same effect on the brain’s CB1 and CB2 as its THC equivalents.

Delta-8 is a significant cannabinoid, mainly thanks to its ability to serve as a more relaxed and efficient alternative for Delta-9. Though it is a major cannabinoid that can be found in abundance in cannabis, extraction is usually fairly cheap and simple as a result. It tends to be derived from marijuana plants specifically. While there is no denying that Delta-9 is a potent compound, being about twice as strong, not to mention an effective and natural healer for those suffering from a multitude of conditions and medical issues, it also brings with it quite a few undesirable side effects. Paranoia and anxiety often top the list of unfavorable side effects linked with traditional marijuana, along with sleep issues and addiction with longer-term use. Delta-8 doesn’t appear to have many of these harmful effects, at least not nearly to the same extent as Delta-9. This makes it a top choice for those seeking similar relaxational properties and euphoric effects to Delta-9, but with far less of the unpleasant mental side effects. Delta- 8 may very well help with sleep in some users. A consistent, regular routine with the right amount will play a major factor.

As you probably know, marijuana is not considered legal on a federal level in the United States. The push for legality has been largely left up to each individual state. So far, 34 states have legalized it for medical or recreational use. The legal fate of Delta-9 has been directly affected as a result. Any amounts over 0.3% are not legal at a federal level, and the state level depends entirely on their local marijuana laws. However, Delta-8 is still officially legal on a federal level. That's because of the ambiguities of the 2018 Farm Bill, which legalized hemp manufacturing. There is nothing within the bill that forbids deriving Delta-8 from hemp and developing products with the compound.

The psychoactive nature of Delta-8 has urged a fair number of states that have banned Delta-8 and Delta-9. There are 15 states that do not allow the marketing of this product, while 6 other states are still pending on its legality. So while Delta 8 is more widespread at the moment than Delta-9, how long that will last has yet to be determined.

The choice between Delta 8 and Delta 9 ultimately comes down to your personal wants and needs. While they share a handful of similarities, there’s enough significant differences between them to set them apart. While Delta 9 might be considered the “classic” choice by some within the cannabis community, Delta 8 has been quickly gaining in popularity due to its milder effects and legal availability. In time it might even become the preferred form of THC for most users. Always consult a health care professional before trying any new medications. We provide free consultations and have a nurse on staff if you have any questions about your care any Delta-8/Delta-9 products.

Delta-8, what is it exactly? How does it relate to CBD? Well, the answer is right here. Delta-8 is a cannabinoid found naturally within cannabis, but typically only in small amounts. Its compound has become generally popular due to its
similarities to THC, the main compound in cannabis that can get you high.

This can cause a euphoria, happiness, sedation, symptom relief, and much more. While these two are similar, they are not quite the same. The similarities between the two cannabinoids lie in their chemical structures and their names. THC’s scientific name is Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, Delta-9 THC, or just Delta-9. Delta-8 is
short for Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol, or Delta-8 THC. Delta-8 THC can cause effects like regular Delta-9 THC—but they will be much less potent. Delta-8 is an alternative to Delta-9 since it produces a less intense, gentle, enjoyable, and manageable experience.

Delta-9 THC only activates the CB1 receptor whereas, Delta-8 THC activates both the CB1 and CB2 receptors. When both receptors are involved, there is an associated physical state known as homeostasis, the body’s natural resting state, when it is not in a fight or fight mode.

This is the same effect CBD has on the body. Delta-8 and Delta-9 are both forms of THC. In common
usage when people refer to THC they are talking about Delta-9 THC. Currently, the legality of Delta-8 is hazy. It can be extracted from either hemp or cannabis. Because of the 2018 farm bill, hemp can be legally grown and used for extractions all over the United States, making Delta-8 legal in states where Delta-9 THC is illegal—sometimes. D-8 is legal federally, and most state laws do not specifically address it. Due to ambiguities in the 2018 farm bill, which legalized hemp and hemp products, Delta-8 is currently not prohibited by federal law.

Some research suggests that Delta 8 potentially helps people produce a neurotransmitter called Acetylcholine, which is responsible for memory, cognition, arousal, and neuroplasticity. Because of the lesser severe psychoactive effects, Delta-8 may treat a wider range of cancer patients since it is better at combatting a lack of appetite than Delta-9. Delta-8 is an enormously powerful immune system activator and eliminated nausea in patients who were ill from cancer medications and chemotherapy treatments.

However, some cancer patients do not use Delta- 9 due to the panic they feel when the take it. Delta-8 has fewer discomforting side effects so it can treat a wider range of cancer patients. When CBD is added to Delta-8 it diminishes the psychotropic affects even more, so you get the benefits of Delta-8 along with CBD with little to no high.

In the US, there are more than 200,000 cases of Diverticulitis each year. It is more commonly found in people over 40 years old. Diverticulitis is an infection or inflammation of pouches that can form in your intestines. It can cause severe abdominal pain, fever, nausea, and a marked change in your bowel habits. Diverticula usually develop when naturally weak places in your colon give way under pressure. This causes marble-sized pouches to protrude through the colon wall.

Diverticulitis occurs when diverticula tear, resulting in inflammation, and in some cases, infection. Treatments vary depending on the severity of signs and symptoms. If symptoms are mild, antibiotics to treat infection may be prescribed. Sometimes a doctor might recommend a liquid diet for a few days to help the healing process. If symptoms are severe, an insertion of a drain tube to drain abdominal abscess or surgery such as a primary bowel resection or a bowel resection with colostomy.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the cannabis plant known for its potential therapeutic effects. CBD reduces pain and inflammation to relieve the symptoms of diverticulitis. Instead of attaching to receptors like most cannabinoids, CBD boosts other parts of the system.

It blocks FAAH, a fatty acid that breaks down the endocannabinoid anandamide. The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) creates anandamide to regulate mood and the pain response. The higher amount of anandamide reduces the amount of pro-inflammatory cells in your immune system. When it reaches your diverticula, it attaches to the receptors on them to mitigate their immune response.

CBD can act as a supplement or replacement for painkillers that cause diverticulitis. Since it reduces inflammation, it also addresses the pain caused by the inflammatory response. The anandamide preserved by CBD regulates pain signals, lowering their severity.

Our AHS tinctures range anywhere from 300mg-3000mg. They are a perfect way to help any pain or discomfort you may be having.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions you may have regarding CBD.

Discussions of the health benefits of cannabinoids like Cannabidiol (CBD) most often center on chronic conditions, including chronic pain, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease. However, they have also shown to help alleviate everyday ailments like toothaches. Most toothaches happen because of pulpitis, an infection in the tooth.

The pulp is the soft area in the center of the tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels. We can feel heat, cold and touch in our teeth because of the pulp in them. The pulp also causes pain when it becomes injured or infected. Flossing and brushing regularly to remove irritating food particles, may help reduce toothache. Using pain relievers may also provide temporary relief, but it is best to limit use of topical medications containing benzocaine like Orajel.

Medications used to treat toothaches include Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen and Orajel. Each medication contains negative side effects that include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, sweating, numbness in hands and feet, blurred
vision, ringing in the ears, ankle swelling, abdominal pain, nausea, fast heartbeat, light headedness, and shortness of breath.

Orajel used in the mouth may cause a condition in which the oxygen in your body tissues can become dangerously low. This is a potentially fatal condition called methemoglobinemia. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects.

Studies show that CBD may help reduce pain and inflammation in an affected tooth by interacting with cannabinoid receptors. Some of these receptors have a link to the immune system and lower its response when they encounter CBD. Since our bodies create inflammation for immune purposes, the CBD reduces the inflammation they make, easing the pain and swelling associated with a toothache in the process.

We always recommend visiting a medical professional if you have a long-lasting or severe toothache. You can use CBD to make toothache pain more manageable, but only a dentist can address the cause.

If your level of pain is & lt 4/7 you can take our AHS 750mg Essential Tincture Oil. If your level of pain is & gt 8/10 you can take our AHS 1500mg Isolate Tincture Oil. For best results drop the CBD oil on a cotton swab and apply to affected tooth and gums.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new regimen. Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions regarding CBD.

Within the United States, approximately 5.7 million people are living with dementia. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for approximately 60%–70% of these cases, followed by vascular dementias.

Dementia is a group of conditions characterized by impairment of at least two brain functions, such as memory loss and judgment. Dementia is characterized by forgetfulness, limited social skills, and thinking abilities so impaired that it interferes with daily functioning.

Treatment for dementia includes rehabilitation therapy, occupational therapy, and prescribed medications. Medications used to treat dementia include Memantine, Rivastigmine, Galantamine, and Donepezil. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include dizziness, confusion, headache, constipation, cough, high blood pressure, backache, fainting, vomiting, shortness of breath, fatigue, kidney failure, brain blockage, stroke, liver failure, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, tremors, insomnia, depression, mood swings, hallucinations and skin rash.

CBD is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects. Studies show that CBD may help improve dementia without the negative side effects of prescribed medications.

According to researchers at California’s Salk Institute, their 2017 study has found evidence that cannabinoids such as CBD could potentially help remove dementia from, and increase connections between, brain cells. There are three ways CBD may help to improve health outcomes for people with dementia.

CBD may help reduce inflammation, reduce oxygen buildup, and act as a brain stimulant and neuroprotectant. CBD may also reduce stress and anxiety in the individual with dementia as well as reduce the decline of memory and other brain functions.

Our AHS 3000mg Supreme Blend Tincture can be taken sublingually along with a Vici Scatter Brain patch that can be applied topically to help improve dementia.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment.

Our team is always available to provide you with education and assist you with ant questions regarding CBD.

Anxiety is a common disorder affecting dogs worldwide and roughly 20 to 40 percent of dogs presented to veterinary specialists suffer from this disorder.

Dogs with anxiety often express their emotional distress in destructive, loud, and inconvenient ways. There are two main types of anxiety in dogs, situational and behavioral.

Situational anxiety occurs during unusual situations that prevent your pup from calming down. These can include thunderstorms, vet visits, car rides, fireworks or encounters with strangers.

Behavioral anxiety is a constant anxious feeling about something. Separation anxiety, for example, is one type of behavioral stress that many pet owners witness at home. These dogs tend to act up while you are gone due to the stress of being alone. Canine anxiety is characterized by pacing, panting, whimpering, trembling, aggression, loss of appetite, urination or defecation, nervous licking or chewing of the paws, excessive barking, and destructive behavior.

Treatment for anxious dogs include training, therapy, and prescribed medications. Prescribed medications include fluoxetine, clomipramine, and benzodiazepine. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include insomnia, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, shaking, panting, whimpering, weight loss, seizures, aggression, dry mouth, constipation, difficulty urinating, lethargy, and fainting.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects. Studies show that CBD may help to alleviate the symptoms of canine anxiety without the harmful side effects of prescribed medication.

CBD works by traveling through the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a natural biological system present in all mammals, meaning that dogs and cats respond to CBD in much the same way as humans. Research suggests that CBD can stimulate specific serotonin receptors in the brain.

This temporary boost of the serotonin system can be greatly beneficial, helping reduce anxiety and fear, as well as improving mood in dogs.

Our CBD Pet Tincture Oil can be given to your canine companion along with CBD infused dog treats to help reduce anxiety.

Always consult your veterinarian before starting your furry friend on a new treatment.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions you may have regarding CBD.

According to the National Survey on Drug Use & Health, nearly 2 percent of Americans ages 12 and older have some sort of marijuana dependence and people who use marijuana before age 18 are 4 to 7 times more likely to develop this addiction than adults. Marijuana addiction is when a person feels withdrawal symptoms when not taking the drug.

People with marijuana dependence often report irritability, mooddifficulties, decreased appetite, insomnia, headaches, sweating, chills, anxiety and depression that peak within the first week after quitting and last up to 2 weeks.

Marijuana dependence occurs when the brain adapts to large amounts of the drug by reducing production of and sensitivity to its own endocannabinoid neurotransmitters. When marijuana is smoked, THC passes rapidly from the lungs into the bloodstream, which carries the substance to the brain and other organs throughout the body.

THC acts specifically on the brain cell’s cannabinoid receptors. These receptors are part of the neural communication network, called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays an important role in normal brain development and function. The highest density of cannabinoid receptors is found in parts of the brain that influence pleasure, memory, thinking, concentration, sensory, time perception, and coordinated movement.

Marijuana over-activates the ECS, causing the “high” and other effects that users experience, such as altered perceptions, altered mood, impaired coordination, difficulty thinking, difficulty problem solving, disrupted learning, memory issues and appetite changes. Marijuana use is associated with a range of health issues, particularly related to heart problems, lung problems and mental health conditions.

Frequent smokers can experience issues, such as daily cough, phlegm production, lung infections, damage to the immune system, damage to brain cells, damage to the central nervous system, fertility issues, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, depression, anxiety, personality disturbancesand lack of motivation.Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects.According to research CBD may alleviate the symptoms of marijuana withdrawals to help detoxing run smoothly.

CBD has shown promise in decreasing anxiety, improving sleep, improving cognitive function and having neuroprotective effects which may reverse some of the cognitive deficits associated with marijuana dependence. The mechanism of action for CBD has shown to be antagonistic to the psychoactive properties of THC in many locations within the central nervous system.

Such action suggests that it might be beneficial to use CBD to alleviate withdrawals of marijuana addiction. There are many CBD products that can help alleviate marijuana withdrawals. A 1500mg, 2000mg or 3000mg tincture can be taken sublingually to help with depression, headaches and insomnia.

Our AHS 1500mg or 2500mg custom cream can be applied topically to help with headaches and insomnia. 300mg CBD infused gummies and 1000mg CBD vape would work great for reducing anxiety and insomnia.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment. Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and answer any questions regarding CBD.
