One of the better questions we have gotten is, “Is CBD oil allowed on planes?” The quick and simple answer to this question is “yes you can!” But there are still limits to what you can and can’t bring on to an airplane. Let’s discuss CBD, what you can and can’t bring with you on your next flight, and why you would bring it to begin with.

Many people fly from place to place for various reasons. Maybe you’re going on a well-earned vacation, or maybe you’re flying for a business trip. Whatever the reason may be, there are many people who reportedly have what’s called airplane anxiety. About 40% of the general population admits to having some fear of flying, about 2.5% of that group having a clinical phobia, meaning said person either avoids flying all together or does so with considerable distress. As with other situational phobias, the fear is almost always disproportionate to the danger posed. There are many people who take medications or use different techniques to help relieve their anxiety. But what if you could bring CBD with you? CBD, also known as Cannabidiol, is a chemical compound found in the cannabis or hemp plant. You may already know the compound THC, also known as Tetrahydrocannabinol, which comes from the same plant, except it causes a psychoactive effect. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, and brings many different healing properties. Those being the ability to reduce anxiety, pain, inflammation, stress,
depression, and many other conditions. CBD becomes valuable with airplane anxiety due to its anxiety and stress reducing properties. One of the better things you could use specifically for airplane anxiety would be our SoCal gummies that come in Peach Rings, Neon Rings, and Sour Bears. These gummies are specially made to help with anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, and mood balance. These gummies take about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to feel the effects, they make your body relax much easier and reduce the anxiety either entirely or to a much more manageable level. We also have our Kurativ CBD/CBG gummies that can help with the anxiety as well. Cannabigerol, or CBG, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid typically most abundant in low-THC and high- CBD cannabis strains, including hemp. Like THC, CBG reacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain. CBG is the inspiration for other cannabinoids. While CBD has a relatively low affinity for cannabinoid receptors and interacts mostly with the endocannabinoid system on an indirect basis, CBG is thought to interact directly with the brain’s CB1
and CB2 cannabinoid receptors. CBG works to fight inflammation, pain, nausea and works to slow the proliferation of cancer cells. CBG has been called ‘inactive’ when compared to THC, but it has slight similarity for CB1 receptors, approximately equal to that of CBD. Like CBD, it has painkilling and anti- inflammatory properties, indicating that there is scope for developing cannabinoid drugs that do not have the psychoactive properties of THC. Strains high in CBG will be beneficial treating conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, and Crohn’s disease. For Multiple Sclerosis, a 2014 study in mice said that CBG “has been shown to alleviate symptoms in a viral model of multiple sclerosis.” Remarkably, one of the few medical drugs that contains cannabinoids was approved as a treatment for neuropathic pain in patients with multiple sclerosis. CBG is a good cannabinoid to being with you because of all of its benefits, and it will especially help you with airplane anxiety.

Unlike something like THC, it is legal to take with you to most states in the USA. Though each state has their own rules and laws on CBD, even if it comes from a hemp plant. As of 2020, these ten US States forbid any type of marijuana-based CBD products: Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas. Though always look into wherever you may be going to see if CBD is or is not legal. Within the U.S., you can fly with CBD products that contain less than 0.3 percent THC. However, TSA rules very much apply, in that any liquids (oils, tinctures, creams) must be less than 3 ounces. You can bring a CBD vape pen through airport security in your carry-on, but not in your checked baggage.

Here are some website links that can give further information on where CBD is and is not legal, and what restrictions there are in each state:

We all enjoy being able to relax and have healthy skin. Our skin is one of the most important parts of our body, and we want to take care of it. Some people care for their skin through regimens or specific treatments, such as facials. In this blog, we will talk about facials and how
CBD can be incorporated with them to enhance the experience.

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is the non-psychoactive part of the cannabis plant that has many medicinal properties. It’s known for its healing, soothing and calming capabilities and is effective because we, as humans, have in-built receptors for cannabinoids (as shown in our
“How CBD Works with our Brain Receptors” Blog). That means, when applied topically, it’s able to get to work straight away. What’s nice about topical CBD use is that it can be used for many different treatments, such as facials. How exactly can CBD improve a facial experience, and why should it be used? Let’s take a look at what facials are and how CBD can work with this process to make it even better.

For those who aren’t sure what a facial is, it’s a family of skin care treatments for the face that include: steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, facial masks, peel, and a massage. They are generally performed in beauty salons but are also common in spa treatments. They are
used for general skin health as well for specific skin conditions. A facial is a spa therapy and massage that leaves your skin cleaner, softer, younger, and truly transformed. Facials can help clear congested pores, rejuvenate dry skin, and remove dead skin cells. Various studies have
shown that CBD oil and other topical CBD products have anti-inflammatory benefits when applied to skin. This makes CBD a helpful component for acne-prone skin, while its calming benefits help sensitive skin look and feel better. The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD may be especially useful for reducing potential triggers of eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis.

CBD oil can also help soothe skin and reduce the appearance of irritation, it also helps the body feel at ease and relaxed by reducing stress and anxiety. While this happens more through the ingestion of CBD, it can also happen topically when being used on the body in this way. In
whatever way you use CBD for your face care, you can’t doubt the fantastic results.

Ultimately, you should give a CBD facial a try! You never truly know how much it can really improve your skin care.

We all have aches and pains in our bodies, but what do we do when those pains are recurring and relentless? Usually, we turn to pharmaceutical medicines to get the job done, but what if you want to stop taking these medicines or lower the amount you are taking? Well, we may have the answer for you! In this blog, we will discuss the condition, Fibromyalgia, and what CBN is able to do to help.

Fibromyalgia was thought to be a mental disorder in the early 1800’s, it is a chronic condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain and extreme sensitivity to pressure. Although the root cause of this condition is unknown, what is known is that disturbances in sensory pathways of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves caused patients to suffer from abnormal and intensified pain sensations.

The first scientific research studying fibromyalgia was done in 1981, but the first medication designed to manage the incapacitating symptoms was not approved by the FDA until 2007. While usually less than 40 percent of those suffering from fibromyalgia experience symptom relief from pharmaceutical medications, medical cannabis is often a successful therapy option to an otherwise resilient condition. Fibromyalgia symptoms, including pain, fatigue, sleep deprivation, and mood instability or depression, can be efficiently treated with the use of medical cannabis because the organic chemical compounds that make up the plant, called cannabinoids, mimic the body’s own naturally produced endocannabinoids.

The cannabinoids in cannabis bind to the same endocannabinoid receptors that are responsible for regulating many body systems including pain, appetite, mood, and memory. Even though the increase in the number of states legalizing the use of medical cannabis may seem new to some, it is actually history repeating itself. Medical cannabis tinctures were available for over-the-counter purchase in drugstores throughout the United States until the 1930s. Phillip Leveque, the Oregon-based doctor known for being a pioneer of medical marijuana activism, was alive when cannabis tinctures could be found on store shelves, and he was also one of the first doctors to recommend medical cannabis once it was legalized in 1998. Leveque reported that he was in care of roughly 100 patients suffering from fibromyalgia, at any given time, and they all found medical cannabis to be a highly effective treatment. Many patient statements support what experts and researchers have revealed about the symptom relief that results from the use of medical cannabis.

Multiple cannabinoids are known for easing symptoms of fibromyalgia. For example, THC can significantly reduce or even eliminate pain and nausea while helping to improve mood, and CBN is a powerful sleep aid. While single cannabinoid therapy, like the use of just THC or just CBN, will be effective, the efficacy of medical cannabis increases dramatically when multiple cannabinoids are able to work together in a process known as the entourage effect. An example of this is revealed in the results of a recent online survey of fibromyalgia patients, conducted by The National Pain Foundation. Sixty-two percent of participants found medical cannabis to be “very effective” in the treatment of multiple symptoms.

A study conducted in Spain and published in 2011 revealed that medical cannabis can provide fibromyalgia sufferers with both symptom relief and better quality of life. After using medical cannabis, participants reported a substantial decrease in pain and stiffness as well as increase in relaxation, and a rise in sleeping abilities. Patients also noted feeling an improved sense of well-being after the introducing the use of medical cannabis therapies.

Fibromyalgia is one of the most common chronic pain conditions and affects around 10 million people in the US. Fibromyalgia is characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Researchers believe that Fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals.

Treatments include physical therapy, diet changes and prescribed medications. Medications prescribed for Fibromyalgia include Acetaminophen, antidepressants, Capsaicin, Cyclobenzaprine, Duloxetine, Gabapentin, Ibuprofen, Pramipexole, Pregabalin and Tramadol. Each medication contains negative side effects that include nausea, headache, abdominal pain, rash, sexual problems, insomnia, blurred vision, dizziness, anxiety, dry mouth, constipation, heartburn, memory loss, tremors and viral infections.

CBD can effectively reduce pain and improve sleep for people with Fibromyalgia. Research suggests that CBD may change the way people process pain, with beneficial effects. CBD may interrupt the nerve pathways that send signals of pain between the brain and body.

There is also an anti-inflammatory action of CBD that would reduce heat or swelling around injury or disease. Which also reduces pain without the negative side effects of prescribed medications. Our AHS 1500 mg tincture can be taken sublingually and is perfect for alleviating symptoms for those who suffer with Fibromyalgia.

We also have our AHS 2500 mg cream that can be applied topically to reduce pain and swelling caused by Fibromyalgia. Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions regarding CBD.
