Testosterone, often associated with men, is a key hormone in women’s health. Though women produce less testosterone than men, the hormone plays an important role in muscle strength, bone density, libido, and mood regulation. Low testosterone in women can lead to a range of symptoms that can affect daily life. The following breakdown explores the causes, symptoms, and treatments of low testosterone in women.

Causes of Low Testosterone in Women

1. Aging: As women age, especially during and after menopause, testosterone levels naturally decrease. This drop is a normal part of the aging process.

2. Ovarian Disorders: Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or ovarian failure can disrupt the body’s ability to produce testosterone.

3. Thyroid Issues: An underactive thyroid can interfere with the production of testosterone, leading to symptoms like fatigue and low libido.

4. Medications: Certain medications, such as birth control or cancer treatments, can cause a reduction in testosterone levels.

5. Chronic Stress: Stress increases cortisol, a hormone that can suppress the production of testosterone in the body.

6. Glandular Dysfunction: The pituitary and adrenal glands are involved in hormone production, and any dysfunction in these areas can affect testosterone levels.

Symptoms of Low Testosterone in Women

Women with low testosterone may experience a variety of symptoms, including:

Fatigue: Feeling unusually tired or drained, even after adequate rest.

Decreased Libido: A noticeable reduction in sexual desire or satisfaction.

Weak Muscles: Difficulty building or maintaining muscle mass, or a feeling of muscle weakness.

Mood Swings: Increased irritability, anxiety, or feelings of sadness.

Bone Loss: Increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures due to decreased bone density.

Cognitive Impairment: Trouble concentrating, forgetfulness, and difficulty thinking clearly.

Diagnosis of Low Testosterone

To diagnose low testosterone, a healthcare provider will conduct a blood test to measure the hormone levels. They may also assess your medical history and consider other factors such as thyroid function.

Treatment for Low Testosterone

Treatment options for low testosterone in women depend on the cause and severity of the symptoms:

1. Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT): This can be done through topical gels, patches, or injections. Close monitoring by a healthcare provider is necessary, as excess testosterone can lead to side effects.

2. Lifestyle Modifications: Exercise, proper nutrition, and stress management can help balance hormone levels naturally.

3. Treatment of Underlying Conditions: Addressing other medical conditions, such as PCOS or hypothyroidism, can help restore testosterone levels.

4. Psychological Support: Therapy or counseling can help manage the emotional impact of low testosterone, especially in relation to mood swings or anxiety.

5. Herbal Supplements: Some women turn to supplements like maca root or Tribulus to naturally boost testosterone, though these should be used under the guidance of a healthcare provider.

Conclusion
Low testosterone in women can lead to significant health concerns, but it is a manageable condition. Recognizing the symptoms and seeking medical guidance are key to finding effective treatment. With the right care, women can address the root causes of low testosterone and
improve their overall well-being.

Cannabidiol, better known as CBD, is one of over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis which causes the sensation of being “high” that’s often associated with marijuana. However, unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. This quality makes CBD an appealing option for those who are looking for relief from pain and other symptoms without the mind-altering effects of marijuana or certain pharmaceutical drugs.

How Does it Work?

CBD and THC interact with our bodies in a variety of ways. One of them is by mimicking the effects of the compounds in our bodies called endogenous cannabinoids. These cannabinoids are part of what scientists refer to as the endocannabinoid system. This system plays a crucial role in regulating a broad range of physiological processes that affect how we experience pain, stress, sleep, and more.

CBD Benefits

This fascinating plant is gaining tremendous momentum in the health and wellness world since many people are seeking

alternatives to pharmaceuticals with harsh side effects. Extensive scientific research highlights CBD’s potential as a way to relieve a wide range of symptoms, conditions, and ailments such as, but not limited to:

Autoimmune diseases (inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis,lupus)

Neurological conditions (Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke)

Metabolic syndrome (diabetes, obesity)

Mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, PTSD)

Gut disorders (colitis, Crohn’s)

Sleep problems

Chronic pain

Best Ways to Take CBD

Ingest It Orally

If you’ve never taken CBD before, ingesting it is an easy place to start. Here are some ways you can ingest it:

Tincture, also known as CBD Generally, it’s consumed it by placing it under your tongue and holding it there for up to a minute. Some people use it in their food or add a few drops to their favorite smoothie recipe. It’s also easy to adjust your dose by adding or subtracting a few drops, and it might work a little faster

Capsules or soft You’re probably familiar with and maybe already using capsules and pills, so taking CBD this way won’t feel too different. Plus, monitoring dosage is easy with capsules since they come in pre-measured sizes. Capsules can take 45 minutes or longer to work themselves into your system and may last for several hours

Chewable gummies: These small, tasty, tidbits can be found in

a variety of flavors and sizes yet still pack a CBD punch. Gummies are a perfect way to combat stress, anxiety, sleep, and sometimes nausea. This route can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes to kick in

Topical Application

If you are mostly looking to try CBD for muscle aches and pains, a topical application (the one you put on your body, not in your mouth) can be a good option. Topical products can be applied using different methods such as:

Topical creams: used for acute/chronic pain, muscle aches, joint pain, neuropathy, and more

Topical patches are a discreet way to use They may help with pain, inflammation, stress, and anxiety

In Conclusion

Hopefully, you now feel more informed about the potential CBD benefits to your life, even if it’s just taking CBD as a daily supplement to keep your body and mind in optimum health.

Although CBD is still being researched, we still have a long way to go until it receives the recognition it deserves.

The Lupus Foundation of America cites that up to 1.5 million people are living with Lupus and 16,000 new cases are reported every day.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack its organs and tissues. Lupus is characterized by inflammation, often affecting the joints, kidneys, brain, blood cells, lungs, and the heart. A facial rash also develops, which resembles the wings of a butterfly.

Lupus occurs commonly in women aged 15-44 years old. However, some people are born with lupus genes, which may be triggered by infections, sunlight, and prescription drugs.

Most treatments are designed to reduce organ damage and pain, manage flares, balance hormones, and regulate the immune system activity; not to cure the disease.

Medications used to treat lupus include Cyclosporine, Azathioprine, Belimumab, Hydroxychloroquine, Methotrexate and Prednisone. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include high blood pressure, blood clots in kidneys, abdominal pain, acne, tremors, headaches, diarrhea, rash, fever, muscle aches, liver damage, dizziness, nausea, sore throat, depression, insomnia, vomiting, loss of appetite, mood changes and hair loss.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects.Studies show that CBD may help alleviate the symptoms of lupus without the harmful side effects of prescribed medications.

CBD runs interference in your central nervous system and the human endocannabinoid system (ECS). CBD pushes things along or out of the way, so those systems can function with balance.

It makes a major contribution to reducing inflammation, improving rest, redeploying hormones, and reducing the absorption of anandamide, the “bliss” molecule.

CBD infused products offer relief from fatigue, pain, and more when used properly as part of a holistic approach to help manage lupus symptoms. A 3000mg Tincture Oil can be taken sublingually along with 1000mg CBG Gummies to help alleviate the symptoms of lupus.

Always consult with your primary care physician before starting a new treatment.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions you may have regarding CBD
