Total knee replacements are one of the most successful procedures in all of medicine. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, more than 790,000 knee replacements are performed each year in the United States.

Total joint replacement is a surgical procedure in which parts of an arthritic or damaged joint are removed and replaced with a metal, plastic or ceramic device called a prosthesis. The prosthesis is designed to replicate the movement of a normal, healthy joint.

Knee replacement may be an option when nonsurgical interventions such as medication, physical therapy, and the use of a cane or other walking aid no longer help alleviate the pain. Other possible signs include aching in the joint, pain after extensive use, loss of mobility, joint stiffness after periods of inactivity or rest and/or pain that seems to increase in humid weather.

Knee replacement surgery carries many different risks. Some result directly from the surgery, while others stem from the body’s reaction to the operation. Post op risks include infection, bleeding, blood clots, pain, swelling, breathing problems, nerve damage, allergic reaction and in some cases implant failure. Post op treatment includes exercise, using ice, compression devices, cleaning the wound and prescribed pain medications.

Medications used to treat post op pain include fentanyl, morphine, oxycodone, tramadol, acetaminophen, lidocaine, ibuprofen, naproxen, gabapentin and pregabalin. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, insomnia, anxiety, skin rash, swelling, blurred vision, chest pain, cough, headache, diarrhea, mood swings, loss of appetite, low blood pressure, tremors and much more.

Studies show that CBD may help alleviate some of the complications that come with knee or joint replacement surgery without the negative side effects of prescribed medications. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects.

CBD acts as an anti-inflammatory, which makes it a great choice for chronic types of pain that are reoccurring and constant. This type of pain is normally found in everything, from arthritis to headaches, cramps, cancer-related pain, and muscle aches. As far as post-surgery pain management goes, CBD may help relieve some of those secondary symptoms, like headaches, muscle pains, arthritis, and other signs of inflammation. CBD may help relieve pain, relax muscles and joints, and improve sleep, which is vital to those recovering from any surgery.

Our AHS 3000mg Full Spectrum Supreme Tincture Oil can be taken sublingually along with our AHS 2500mg Custom Cream that can be applied topically to help reduce pain, swelling, inflammation and more.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions regarding CBD.

According to the National Survey on Drug Use & Health, nearly 2 percent of Americans ages 12 and older have some sort of marijuana dependence and people who use marijuana before age 18 are 4 to 7 times more likely to develop this addiction than adults. Marijuana addiction is when a person feels withdrawal symptoms when not taking the drug.

People with marijuana dependence often report irritability, mooddifficulties, decreased appetite, insomnia, headaches, sweating, chills, anxiety and depression that peak within the first week after quitting and last up to 2 weeks.

Marijuana dependence occurs when the brain adapts to large amounts of the drug by reducing production of and sensitivity to its own endocannabinoid neurotransmitters. When marijuana is smoked, THC passes rapidly from the lungs into the bloodstream, which carries the substance to the brain and other organs throughout the body.

THC acts specifically on the brain cell’s cannabinoid receptors. These receptors are part of the neural communication network, called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays an important role in normal brain development and function. The highest density of cannabinoid receptors is found in parts of the brain that influence pleasure, memory, thinking, concentration, sensory, time perception, and coordinated movement.

Marijuana over-activates the ECS, causing the “high” and other effects that users experience, such as altered perceptions, altered mood, impaired coordination, difficulty thinking, difficulty problem solving, disrupted learning, memory issues and appetite changes. Marijuana use is associated with a range of health issues, particularly related to heart problems, lung problems and mental health conditions.

Frequent smokers can experience issues, such as daily cough, phlegm production, lung infections, damage to the immune system, damage to brain cells, damage to the central nervous system, fertility issues, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, depression, anxiety, personality disturbancesand lack of motivation.Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects.According to research CBD may alleviate the symptoms of marijuana withdrawals to help detoxing run smoothly.

CBD has shown promise in decreasing anxiety, improving sleep, improving cognitive function and having neuroprotective effects which may reverse some of the cognitive deficits associated with marijuana dependence. The mechanism of action for CBD has shown to be antagonistic to the psychoactive properties of THC in many locations within the central nervous system.

Such action suggests that it might be beneficial to use CBD to alleviate withdrawals of marijuana addiction. There are many CBD products that can help alleviate marijuana withdrawals. A 1500mg, 2000mg or 3000mg tincture can be taken sublingually to help with depression, headaches and insomnia.

Our AHS 1500mg or 2500mg custom cream can be applied topically to help with headaches and insomnia. 300mg CBD infused gummies and 1000mg CBD vape would work great for reducing anxiety and insomnia.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment. Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and answer any questions regarding CBD.

There are approximately 50 million people in America who are addicted to some type of nicotine product, including cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco and nicotine vape. Nicotine addiction is the most common addiction in America.

According to statistics, more than 1 billion of the world’s population are smokers with a case of death occurring every 6 seconds due to nicotine related issues.

The effects of and addiction to smoking are manifested in the brain through the pleasure principle. Within seconds of smoking or vaping nicotine, the drug travels to the brain and activates the receptors to release the pleasure hormone, dopamine. Dopamine produces a calm and happy sensation, reducing stress and anxiety levels. It doesn’t take long for the brain to start associating pleasure with the memory of nicotine intake, but these sensations are short-lived.

During this process, the number of nicotinic receptors in the brain increase, progressively requiring higher amounts of nicotine to get the same effect. This is known as tolerance after which addiction shortly follows.Withdrawal happens when the body cleanses itself of the drug, and the stress and anxiety return making you crave another smoke. If the addiction is strong, you may feel restless, irritable, depressed, and anxious. This is known as withdrawal syndrome.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound known for its potential therapeutic effects.According to research CBD may alleviate the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal to help detoxing run smoothly. CBD acts as apotential aid in managing depressionby activating the brain’s 5-HT1A receptor, which boosts the availability of serotonin in a similar way to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants.

CBD may also help reduce the stress, anxiety, and irritability associated with attempts to quit nicotine. More than just elevating mood, CBD may help reduce some of the physical symptoms of quitting nicotine. Studies show that CBD may be able to reduce the headaches and other pains experienced when giving up nicotine because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

People who find it difficult to go to sleep at night without nicotine may find it easier to fall asleep with CBD. CBD has been found to help people reach and maintain restful, restorative sleep without the unwanted effects often associated with prescription sleep aids. For those who need nicotine to get moving in the morning, you’ll be relieved to hear that CBD, when taken in small doses, may havean energizing effect.

There are many CBD products that can help alleviate nicotine withdrawals.

In 2019, roughly 1.8 million people were diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Chemotherapy is a form of cancer treatment where a patient is given drugs designed to kill cancer cells. Radiation therapy, on the other hand, is a type of cancer treatment where high doses of radiation are delivered to cancerous tumors in the body.

Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy can produce an array of side effects, such as weakened immune system, bruising, hair loss, nausea, vomiting, neuropathy, labored breathing, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue and different types of body aches and pain.

CBD is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects. Research suggests that CBD may ease neuropathic pain, nausea, and poor appetite due to cancer and cancer treatment. Both cancer and its treatment can lead to pain.

Cancer often causes pain due to inflammation, pressure on internal organs, or nerve injury. When the pain is severe, it can even become resistant to opioids, which are powerful pain relievers that can be highly addictive. CBD indirectly acts on the CB2 receptors, which may help with widespread pain relief by reducing inflammation.

Many people who are going through cancer treatment experience nausea and loss of appetite. These symptoms can make it difficult for them to maintain a healthy weight.Ingesting CBD that delivers cannabinoids to the bloodstream may help simulate appetite and ease nausea and vomiting. There is a plethora of CBD infused products that may help alleviate symptoms of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Our AHS 1500mg Tincture can be taken sublingually along with our AHS 2500mg Custom Cream that can be applied topically to help reduce inflammation and neuropathic pain.

CBD Gummies can also be taken along with CBD infused Tea and Honey to help alleviate nausea, vomiting, fatigue and loss of appetite. Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment.

About 1 out of 10 Americans struggle with restless legs syndrome (RLS). Restless leg syndrome, which also goes by Willis-Ekbom Disease, is a non-life-threatening neurological disorder. While it may not be life-threatening, the symptoms can be painful and worsen as you age.

RLS is characterized by itchy, tingling, burning, and twitching feelings. With that, there’s often an unbearable need to move or kick your legs. RLS symptoms become more pronounced during the evening or later parts of the day. Many people struggling with RLS often have a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep.

This causes fatigue and sleepiness during the day. Treatment for restless legs syndrome includes massage therapy and prescribed medications. Medications used to treat RLS include Levodopa, Ropinirole, Pramipexole, Gabapentin and Pregabalin. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, loss of appetite, insomnia, hallucinations, increased blood pressure, fever, viral infection, blurred vision and tremors.

CBD is a non-psychoactive chemical compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects. Studies show that CBD may help alleviate symptoms of RLS without the negative side effects of prescribed medication. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid that interacts indirectly with receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). This action essentially greases the system’s gears and maximizes its ability to do its job—which is to promote optimum functioning in the body’s other systems.

Taking CBD can help your body maintain homeostasis and lessen any symptoms that are preventing certain bodily functions from operating properly. In the case of RLS, this applies to CBD’s ability to help those who suffer from lack of sleep. Many people have trouble maintaining a consistent sleep-wake cycle, CBD has shown to improve sleep quality and make it easier to fall asleep.

CBD for restless legs syndrome also works by acting as a potential muscle relaxant. Research shows that CBD may calm the nerves in your legs that cause the tingling and painful sensations.

Our AHS 1500mg Tincture can be taken sublingually along with our AHS 2500mg Custom Cream that can be applied topically to help alleviate symptoms of RLS.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment. Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions regarding CBD.
