There are many ways to ingest CBD, each way has their own benefits. Such as gummies and tincture. These two are the most popular ways to consume CBD due to how easily accessible these options are. Each one has a unique use, and today we will be discussing what each one would be used for, and which one would be best for you!

Please know that at AHS, all of the staff tests the products before they are put on to our shelves to make ensure it works as intended and is safe to consume. Employees are able to give recommendations based on their own experience or the experience of other clients who have also taken the products.

Gummies

Gummies are a tasty way to get your daily dose of CBD! But what are the exact benefits of taking it in this form? Well, let’s use our SoCal Yummy Gummies as an example. They are used for anxiety, stress, depression, mood balance, sleep, etc. With gummies, they have a set dosing, such as 25mg per gummy and 750mg for a whole container, this allows you to have a very exact knowledge of your dosing. Gummies can be taken any time of day when you’re feeling an onset of symptoms. For example, if you had anxiety and you felt the heart palpitations and overwhelming stress, you would be able to take a gummy and feel relief in about 30-45 minutes. Depending on the level of your symptoms/condition, this would determine the gummy that would be recommended and the dosing. You feel the relief of this product for about 4-6 hours, but this can depend on the person.

Tincture

CBD oil, also known as tincture, is another good method to ingest CBD. Tincture can help with many conditions and overall care. This would be taken as follows: you would fill the dropper to your recommended dosing (the droppers we carry have markers that show how much you are taking, a full dropper being 1ML), put said amount under your tongue for 30 seconds, and swallow. The flavors are more limited, though what we have is a minty flavor that is easy on the tastebuds. What makes the oil so special is that it is much stronger than the gummies and stay in your body much longer due to going through your bloodstream (via under the tongue.) We carry bottles that contain 750mg, 1500mg,
2000mg, and 3000mg. The dosing can look like this: 50mg in the morning and 25mg at night, we do morning and night because the oil stays in your body for about 12 hours at a time. So, with taking it both times of the day, you get a full 24-hour coverage. But with this comes higher risk. If clients are taking medications, such as blood pressure or heart medication, we recommend spacing them two hours a part, so they don’t interact. This is an issue because the CBD can raise the dosing of these medications in your body, which can be dangerous. But don’t fret! We have professionals on staff along with a nurse who are able to help dose you safely if you want to give it a try.

Depending on your condition, there is always a product for you! At AHS, we provide free consultations if you have any questions about your condition or if you want recommendations. We provide products for sleep, anxiety, stress, topical pains, internal pain, and more!

We all have aches and pains in our bodies, but what do we do when those pains are recurring and relentless? Usually, we turn to pharmaceutical medicines to get the job done, but what if you want to stop taking these medicines or lower the amount you are taking? Well, we may have the answer for you! In this blog, we will discuss the condition, Fibromyalgia, and what CBN is able to do to help.

Fibromyalgia was thought to be a mental disorder in the early 1800’s, it is a chronic condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain and extreme sensitivity to pressure. Although the root cause of this condition is unknown, what is known is that disturbances in sensory pathways of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves caused patients to suffer from abnormal and intensified pain sensations.

The first scientific research studying fibromyalgia was done in 1981, but the first medication designed to manage the incapacitating symptoms was not approved by the FDA until 2007. While usually less than 40 percent of those suffering from fibromyalgia experience symptom relief from pharmaceutical medications, medical cannabis is often a successful therapy option to an otherwise resilient condition. Fibromyalgia symptoms, including pain, fatigue, sleep deprivation, and mood instability or depression, can be efficiently treated with the use of medical cannabis because the organic chemical compounds that make up the plant, called cannabinoids, mimic the body’s own naturally produced endocannabinoids.

The cannabinoids in cannabis bind to the same endocannabinoid receptors that are responsible for regulating many body systems including pain, appetite, mood, and memory. Even though the increase in the number of states legalizing the use of medical cannabis may seem new to some, it is actually history repeating itself. Medical cannabis tinctures were available for over-the-counter purchase in drugstores throughout the United States until the 1930s. Phillip Leveque, the Oregon-based doctor known for being a pioneer of medical marijuana activism, was alive when cannabis tinctures could be found on store shelves, and he was also one of the first doctors to recommend medical cannabis once it was legalized in 1998. Leveque reported that he was in care of roughly 100 patients suffering from fibromyalgia, at any given time, and they all found medical cannabis to be a highly effective treatment. Many patient statements support what experts and researchers have revealed about the symptom relief that results from the use of medical cannabis.

Multiple cannabinoids are known for easing symptoms of fibromyalgia. For example, THC can significantly reduce or even eliminate pain and nausea while helping to improve mood, and CBN is a powerful sleep aid. While single cannabinoid therapy, like the use of just THC or just CBN, will be effective, the efficacy of medical cannabis increases dramatically when multiple cannabinoids are able to work together in a process known as the entourage effect. An example of this is revealed in the results of a recent online survey of fibromyalgia patients, conducted by The National Pain Foundation. Sixty-two percent of participants found medical cannabis to be “very effective” in the treatment of multiple symptoms.

A study conducted in Spain and published in 2011 revealed that medical cannabis can provide fibromyalgia sufferers with both symptom relief and better quality of life. After using medical cannabis, participants reported a substantial decrease in pain and stiffness as well as increase in relaxation, and a rise in sleeping abilities. Patients also noted feeling an improved sense of well-being after the introducing the use of medical cannabis therapies.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting any new treatments.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions regarding CBD, CBN, or other cannabinoids you may be curious about.

Everyday we find those who struggle with Anxiety and Depression. Some unable to get out of bed or even leave the house, others who try their best to hide it. There are so many different medications given to help treat Anxiety and Depression however we are faced with all the side effects such as irritability, fatigue, weakness, blurred vision, nausea, and so much more.

The longing for something that works without side effects almost seemed non-existent. Researchers discovered that CBD has proven to show improvement with those suffering from Anxiety and Depression. The main question many ask is how does Anxiety and Depression occur? Well it could be many different factors such as a medical condition such as hyperthyroidism, heart disease, diabetes, withdrawal from alcohol or anti-anxiety medications.

Anxiety/ Depression could also occur from having low serotonin levels. Serotonin is a powerful neurotransmitter that is responsible for regulating mood, sleep cycle, appetite, and digestion, among many other things. Low serotonin levels are known to cause Anxiety/Depression, aggression, impulsive behavior, insomnia, irritability, low self-esteem, poor appetite, and poor memory. Statistics show that 62% of cannabidiol (CBD) users reported to have used CBD to help treat their Anxiety/Depression.

Some research suggests that in addition to impacting the endocannabinoid system, cannabidiol may influence receptors involved in the modulation of serotonin. It is very important that you consult your primary care provider before taking CBD if you are currently taking medications to prevent any contraindications with any medications you might be taking.

We have many different products that could help treat Anxiety/Depression such as our Miller Healer CBD Sour Gummies and SoCal Hemp CBD infused Yummy Gummies which have shown to have high success rates in relieving Anxiety, restlessness, and insomnia. Our team of qualified specialists are always available to assist and educate regarding CBD.
