CBC (Cannabichromene) is a lesser-known cannabinoid found in cannabis and hemp plants. Though not as widely studied as THC or CBD, CBC has shown promising potential for various health benefits. Here are some of the positive effects of CBC on human anatomy:

1. Anti-Inflammatory Properties

CBC interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS – balances body – creates homeostasis) to reduce inflammation without directly binding to CB1 or CB2 receptors.

It enhances the effects of other cannabinoids like CBD, potentially making it useful for treating conditions like arthritis, inflammatory diseases, and chronic pain.

2. Pain Relief (Analgesic Effects)

CBC has been found to influence pain perception by interacting with TRPV1 and TRPA1 receptors, which are involved in pain sensation, and body inflammation.

Its possible it helps chronic pain management without the psychoactive effects of THC or mushrooms.

3. Neuroprotective Benefits

Studies suggest that CBC may support brain health by promoting neurogenesis (the growth of new brain cells).

It helps protect against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

4. Mood Enhancement & Anti-Depressant Effects

CBC interacts with serotonin receptors, which play a role in regulating mood.

Increasing Anandamide (“The Bliss Molecule”).

It may have antidepressant properties, making it a potential natural remedy for anxiety and depression. This could be beneficial for cognitive function, stress resilience, and mental health recovery.

5. Targets Executive Dysfunction

promotes metacognitive awareness, enabling clients to identify maladaptive thoughts and behaviors and replace them with more constructive strategies.

improves attention, time management, and emotional regulation in individuals with ADHD,contributing to improved daily functioning and long-term outcomes with consistency

6. Antibacterial & Antifungal Properties

Research has shown that CBC exhibits strong antibacterial effects against harmful bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant strains.

It also has antifungal properties, which may help in fighting infections.

7. Potential Anti-Cancer Properties

Preliminary studies suggest that CBC may inhibit tumor growth by promoting apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells.

It could work synergistically with other cannabinoids in cancer treatment.

8. Gut Health & Digestive Support

CBC may help regulate gut health by reducing inflammation in the digestive tract.

It has been studied for its potential in managing conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and Crohn’s disease.

9. Skin Health & Acne Treatment

CBC has been shown to reduce excessive sebum production, which contributes to acne.

Its anti-inflammatory properties may also help with skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

10. Supports Homeostasis

By interacting with the ECS, CBC helps maintain balance in various bodily functions, including sleep, appetite, and immune response.

Conclusion
While research on CBC is still in its early stages, its potential benefits for pain relief, inflammation, mental health, and neuroprotection are promising. As scientific studies continue, CBC may become a valuable component in natural health and wellness therapies.

ADHD Symptoms For Men

Many people in this life have gone their whole lives feeling a bit… different. They feel unable to focus, unable to properly regulate themselves in their personal lives, hyper fixate on different topics, have difficulties in their relationships, etc. For some people, this is their normal, and you may be wondering, why? How? Well, these may be symptoms of ADHD/ADD. In this article, we will discuss the symptoms of this condition, and how it could be affecting you.

What is ADHD?

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by difficulty paying attention, hyperactivity/impulsivity, or it can be a combination of both. People with ADHD may struggle to impulse control, following directions, completing tasks, among other symptoms. ADHD is considered one of the most common mental conditions in children, with an estimated 6 million children ages 3 to 17 years having ever been diagnosed. While ADHD is usually diagnosed in childhood, there are still many people who go undiagnosed until adulthood.

Other conditions and ADHD:

While many people can only have ADHD, it is also possible to have other conditions in addition. The most common conditions being anxiety and depression. It is also possible to have other mood disorders. Substance use disorders, such as addiction to alcohol or drugs, anxiety disorders (such as social anxiety disorder (SAD) or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), sleep disorders, eating disorders (such as anorexia or bulimia), or even mood disorders (like depression or bipolar disorder).

How many people experience ADHD?

Depending on sex, genetics, and environmental factors, ADHD can affect many people. According to most studies, there is a 2 to 1 ratio of boys being diagnosed over girls in childhood. While research indicates that the condition is more common in boys and men, there is also evidence that it often goes undiagnosed in women

ADHD in men has more of the symptoms that are looked for when diagnosing ADHD Lack of attention/easily distracted: This is one of the most common symptoms, where you become disinterested in whatever you’re listening to and end up staring into space or moving on to the next thing before your current task or conversation is done.

Difficulty staying on task: Sometimes you have multiple projects you’re working on at once, all of those being somewhat complete. Then that causes an overwhelming pressure to get all of them done at once or it will never get done.

Having trouble listening: It can be difficult to listen to topics that aren’t catching your attention, more than the average person. You end up involuntarily zoning out of whatever or whoever you are listening to.

Lack of follow through: Whether it be forgetfulness or due to procrastination, sometimes a task or plans can slip through the crack regardless of if it’s intentional or not.

Disorganization: You forgot where you set your phone, or maybe your keys. Or was it your pen? It can be hard to keep track of items, or it can be difficult to keep everything in one spot and clean.

Procrastination: You may be asking yourself, “Do I have the mental energy for this task?” ADHD can cause a normal day to day task as simple as brushing your teeth or cleaning your room to feel like pulling teeth.

Forgetfulness: Did you forget what you were doing today? What did I need to do next at work? ADHD can cause you to be more forgetful than most people, not due to not wanting to do the task.

What can cause ADHD?

Researchers are continuing to examine why and how brain development is related to ADHD. However, they believe ADHD has a strong genetic link. If at least one of your parents has ADHD, your chances of having ADHD are higher, and then your children are also more likely to develop it. People who have ADHD are considered neurodivergent. That means that their brains develop and work differently than those who are neurotypical (which means that their brains develop, and work as expected). There has been additional evidence to show that brain structure and brain chemistry, and hormones may cause some of the characteristics associated with ADHD.

What can be done to help?

There are many treatment plans that can be done to help with ADHD and its accompanying symptoms.

Some of the methods to helping with symptoms could be something as small as using post it notes to remember things or setting alarms to not lose track of time.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is a really good method to help those with ADHD symptoms to be able to regulate themselves and work on strategies to cope with these symptoms. Talking to another person can help reduce depression and anxiety symptoms that can occur as well.

Some people take medications to help them manage their symptoms. One of the most common medications used for ADHD is stimulants, some examples being methylphenidate and amphetamine. Other medications can be prescribed, depending on the severity of the condition. The purpose of stimulants is to boost and balance the brain chemical levels (aka neurotransmitters). Other medications used to treat ADHD include nonstimulant atomoxetine and some antidepressants such as bupropion. Atomoxetine and antidepressants work slower than stimulants, but these may be advantageous if you can’t take stimulants due to health problems or if stimulants cause severe side effects.
Though, we always like to inform people that just because this works for some people, it does not mean this method will work for everyone.

There are alternative medicines that can help in the CBD industry. Research is still being done on how cannabinoids help in terms of ADHD. As of now, it has been discovered that the compound called Cannabichromene (aka CBC) has shown decent results in helping to reduce ADHD symptoms. Cannabichromene, often abbreviated as CBC, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that is among the most abundant in the cannabis plant, following CBD and THC and several others. While CBC shares structural similarities with CBD, their properties differ significantly. It helps with reducing anxiety and depression symptoms in the brain, allowing the adhd symptoms to be more at ease.

Regardless of how you would like to go about treatment, we always recommend doing your own additional research and speaking to a health care professional to make sure you are getting the care you need. There are many treatment plans that can be done to help with ADHD and its accompanying symptoms.

Have you tried a broad spectrum product but it wasn’t enough for your body? Well we are happy to introduce our Premium gummies. They are full spectrum, having a legal limit of THC 0.3%. Through this blog we are going to be breaking down what is in the gummy as well as its benefits. This gummy is watermelon flavored. It is for moderate to higher levels of anxiety and stress. As well as moderate to high levels of pain. Our gummies come in a 10pk and a 30pk.

This gummy has 25mg of full spectrum. Full spectrum CBD is one of three main types of CBD and refers to products containing CBD alongside other active compounds found in the hemp plant, such as terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids, including THC. Terpenes are a class of natural chemical compounds commonly found in plants. According to federal law, the maximum amount of THC by dry weight that can be present in CBD products made from hemp plants is 0.3%.

This gummy also has 25mg of CBG. The cannabis plant contains the cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG). This substance is frequently referred to as the “mother of all cannabinoids.” This is due to the fact that CBG’s acidic form, cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), is the source of other cannabinoids. CBG is a cannabinoid found in cannabis plants, but in much lower concentrations than cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Consumer goods made from cannabigerol are consequently rare and frequently expensive. But due to the
numerous possible advantages the cannabinoid offers, CBG is becoming more and more well-liked.

This product does have a 1:1 ratio of CBD/CBG meaning that the product contains equal amounts of CBD and CBG. Both have beneficial health and wellness properties. Some people might find that they feel more benefit from one or the other, while others feel that CBD and CBG balance each other and have a better effect when taken together.

The difference between broad spectrum, full spectrum and isolate is that Full Spectrum CBD contains the full cannabinoid profile of the plant including THC up to the 0.3% THC legal limit. The product contains all the natural fatty acids and terpenes originally present in the plant as they remain through the extraction process. Broad Spectrum CBD maintains the cannabinoid profile but is further refined to remove THC. These products are often labeled as “THC-Free” or “0.0% THC”. COA’s should show THC as “Non Detectable” for these products. CBD that is fully refined to 99.9% purity and has all cannabinioids removed is known as CBD Isolate. This is normally in a powder form and while it does offer some therapeutic benefits, you really need the full cannabinoid profile to maximize the full potential of the product. This is why our products traditionally fall into either the Full or Broad Spectrum categories.

Now I am going to be discussing its benefits with this gummy. This is roughly how much it can help but there is more.

★ Anti inflammatory
★ Immune support
★ Anti bacterial
★ Neuroprotective
★ May lower blood pressure
★ May reduce tumor growth
★ May help with anxiety, depression, OCD and PTSD
★ May help insomnia
★ May reduce epileptic seizures
★ May help with headaches and nausea
★ May alleviate pain
★ May help with IBS
★ May help with arthritis and tendonitis
★ Non psychoactive
★ Help with neuropathy
★ Ect.

In conclusion, CBD full spectrum and CBG bind together and can help the body in many different ways. With its strong properties within CBD and CBG it can target the receptor a lot quicker with a 1:1 ratio. Having the legal limit of 0.3% of THC can make a difference to target the receptor a lot quicker to relieve whatever pain, anxiety, and nausea etc. If you have any questions about these products feel free to reach out to us. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

There are many different variations of cannabinoids out in the world that do a variety of effects. Such as CBG for pain and CBN for sleep. But what if there were more cannabinoids that can help benefit people and their health? There is CBDA and CBGA, these being more recent in the field of medicine and is still early in research. CBDA and CBGA are a newer subject of study on how cannabinoids interact with COVID-19. Researchers found that two cannabinoid acids commonly found in hemp, cannabigerolic acoid, or CBGa, and cannabidiolic acid, also known as CBDa, can bind to the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19. By binding to the spike protein, the compounds can prevent the virus from entering cells and causing infection, potentially offering a new gateway to treating diseases.

So, let’s discuss what these compounds are. Starting with plain ol’ CBD. CBD, or cannabidiol, is found in the same plant as THC but is actually non-psychoactive, meaning CBD will not get you high while providing its therapeutic benefits. Because of this, it has become extremely popular in the medical field. CBD is often extracted from CBD-rich strains of cannabis, like hemp. It is typically seen in oils, tinctures, supplements, extracts, food and beverage products, gummies, and seemingly everything. CBD products that have high THC content come from marijuana plants, while the majority of CBD products you see on the market (and the only ones technically allowed by the FDA) are those that have a THC content of 0.3% or less. So, what about CBDA and CBGA? Where does it fit into the crowded cannabinoid market?

Let’s discuss CBGA first. Cannabigerolic acid (also known as CBGA) is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that is the precursor for THC, CBD, and several other familiar cannabinoids. CBG is cannabigerol, the non- acidic form of cannabigerolic acid. CBGA is converted into CBG when heat is applied (similar to the conversion process of THCA to THC). Enzymes known as synthases are responsible for moving the CBGA
cannabinoid into molecules such as THCA, the raw, unactivated molecule that translates to THC when heat is applied. CBG interacts with the body & endocannabinoid system and demonstrates substantial therapeutic potential. While research into the cannabinoid is still early, CBG shows potential as an anti- inflammatory, mood regulator, cancer fighter, and appetite stimulant. It also has potent antibacterial
properties. Cannabigerol is frequently called the mother cannabinoid because no other cannabinoid will exist without some level of CBG. For more than 50 years, scientists have been mindful of the compound cannabigerol (CBG), it was first uncovered by Israeli scientists. About 30 years later, Japanese scientists then discovered that CBGA was the precursor to CBG. The growth of CBGA occurs when two organic compounds in the plant: geranyl pyrophosphate and olivetolic acid combine. This is an vital building block in the formation of other cannabinoids like CBDA, THCA, CBCA, and CBG. Olivetolic being a compound used to make man-made forms of THC. It’s used in chemistry quite frequently, in this regard.

Now let’s move on to CBDA. CBDA is a non-psychoactive compound that serves as a precursor to CBD. More specifically, CBDA is decarboxylated to create CBD, meaning it is heated. This can happen immediately if smoked or vaped, or slowly if the plant material is left to dry in the sun or even at room temperature. All cannabinoids in cannabis and hemp come from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), the mother
of all cannabinoids. Plant enzymes then translate the CBGa into a combination of the three major cannabinoid predecessor compounds: tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabichromenic acid (CBCA), and cannabidiolic acid (CBDA). The combination will vary on the distinctive cannabis strain they are derived from. Cannabidiolic acid can, hence, be thought of as raw CBD. CBDA is most frequently
found in the live or raw hemp plants bred for high CBD levels. Cannabidiolic acid is regularly consumed as CBD, but it can also be valuable in its raw form. CBDA oil can be consumed or absorbed via tinctures, raw cannabis juice, topical creams, and raw CBDA oil. To date, CBDA has drawn much less public attention and is seen less on the market. However, the raw juicing cannabis craze is getting CBDA into the spotlight. People are speculating about the differences between CBD and CBDA and if CBDA is better than CBD.

They are both non-psychoactive, demonstrating that users won’t get high or stoned. This is because CBD and CBDA both do not fully interact with our endocannabinoid receptors. CBD and CBDA are thought to cause their well-known effects by activating our 5-HT1A serotonin receptors. You’ve likely heard of serotonin, as it is a crucial neurotransmitter in our brains that is closely related in regulating our mood,
sleep, anxiety, and even nausea. CBD is noted to help with things like anxiety, depression, inflammation, and even a rare form of childhood epilepsy. You see CBD in such a wide selection of health supplements because of its usefulness and because it has been examined much more than CBDA. Meanwhile, CBDA is in the very early stages of research but shows just as much, if not more, promise than CBD. For example,
one study found that CBDA produces antidepressant effects on rats at doses 10 to 100 times lower than CBD. This is due to CBDA’s relationship with serotonin receptors. For this same reason, CBDA is further researched as an anti-nausea drug, with one study finding CBDA more effective at reducing nausea than CBD. Well, until we have tangible evidence from human testing, it’s too early to say! However, early research implies that raw CBD oil can be just as, if not more, effective at treating things like depression, nausea, and inflammation. It may also have unique properties that CBD does not, making it an option for various treatments. CBDA shows promise as an anticonvulsant and may even have antibacterial, antioxidant, and cancer-preventing potential (particularly breast cancer). So, while there is enough early
indication to suggest that CBDA has its own distinctive qualities that could set it apart from CBD in certain areas.

As you can see, CBDA and CBGA does indeed have its own unique potential in the expanding cannabinoid industry. While research into much of CBDA’s and CBGA’s potential is still in the early stages, enough evidence gives scientists and eager supplement users great assurance. For those of you who are just going into the CBD/health supplement, CBDA and CBGA may indeed offer another good option to add to your health and wellness routine. Though always consult a doctor or a specialist before starting any new treatments. AHS has specialist and a nurse on staff who are available to answer any questions you may have.

Pneumonia can be very dangerous to have if you don’t treat it properly. It can be hard to know what to do or how to best treat something like this. What if there was more you can do than just antibiotics? While it is recommended to use those during said infection, there are compounds you can add to your health care to help with recovery. Currently, Covid-19 has been linked to pneumonia after the initial infection. The pneumonia itself can be considered an after effect of Covid, though this is not the case for everyone. Let’s look into what pneumonia and CBD are and how CBD can help you when you’re sick.

Let’s start with pneumonia itself. Pneumonia is an infection in the lungs that can cause one or both lungs to be inflamed and fill up with fluid. With pneumonia, the air sacs may fill with fluid or pus. The infection can be life-threatening to anyone, but particularly to infants, children, and people over 65. Symptoms may consist of coughing with phlegm or pus, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing. Antibiotics can treat many forms of pneumonia. Some forms of pneumonia can be prevented by vaccines.

But how does CBD tie into this?

CBD is a non-psychoactive product, meaning that it does not give you a high or any of the mind-altering effects of THC (also known as tetrahydrocannabinol). There are different CBD products that work better for different conditions, but they truly do help make a difference for whatever condition that you may have. Along with the different conditions it can help, it also comes in different forms. There are gummies/edibles, oils and tinctures, creams and lotions, capsules/pills, and even vapes! Early studies have found that CBD may be a potential alternative to traditional medications for treating anxiety and depression. CBD is able to help due to being able to sooth irritated lungs. This is due to CBD’s anti- inflammatory properties, it also is able to reduce the pain signals that are sent to your brain, thus helping to reduce overall discomfort. When it comes to inflammation, CBD does wonders internally and externally. There have been many studies done that proved that CBD can help with lung functionality. An example of this is with asthma. CBD oil also acts as a bronchodilator which may benefit those with asthma symptoms by dilating the respiratory airways. In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, CBD may also decrease hyperresponsiveness in your respiratory airway by reducing sensitivity to triggers that may cause an asthma attack.

One way CBD appears to reduce the “cytokine storm” that damages the lungs and kills many patients with COVID-19 is by enabling an increase in levels of a natural peptide called apelin. Apelin is known to reduce inflammation. There have been researchers who have reported that CBD’s ability to improve oxygen levels and reduce inflammation as well as physical lung damage in their laboratory model of deadly adult respiratory distress syndrome. Now they have shown that apelin levels go way down with the viral infection, which has killed 1 million people worldwide, and that CBD quickly helps normalize those levels along with lung function. Apelin is a pervasive peptide made by cells in the heart, lung, brain, fat tissue and blood, and is an important regulator in bringing both blood pressure and inflammation down. When our blood pressure gets high, for example, apelin levels should go up in the right place, like endothelial cells that line blood vessels, to help bring it down. Apelin should do the same to help normalize the significant increases in inflammation in the lungs and related breathing difficulties associated with deadly adult respiratory distress syndrome With CBD, it can make your recovery process much easier. Always consult your doctor before trying any new treatments. At AHS, we have specialists and a nurse on staff who can help answer any CBD questions you may have.

We all have had trouble sleeping at least a few times in our lives. The cause could be almost anything, maybe you have an exciting book you don’t want to put down, maybe a really good T.V. show that’s just getting to the good part, or you’ve been extremely stressed out and your mind is racing, or maybe you have insomnia, and your brain won’t let you sleep no matter what you do. Whatever the reason, a lack of sleep can affect your body in many different ways, some more obvious than others. There are many different ways to get around the issue as well, though some are better than others. Let’s discuss what a lack of sleep can do to your body, what the potential solutions are, and what minerals you can take to help you sleep better.

Let’s start this discussion with what a lack of sleep can do to your body. In a short term case, the effects won’t harm you long term. Though you will likely feel much more groggy, moody, or even fatigued. Though for long term cases for a lack of sleep, those effects may be more dangerous. According to research, a lack of sleep can cause a few different problems for the body. Such as a weakened immune system, high blood pressure, risk for diabetes, risk of heart disease, mood changes, memory issues, trouble with thinking and concentration, etc. Long term, this can become detrimental to your quality of life and have lifelong consequences if you aren’t careful. Though these conditions are NOT guaranteed to happen, you have a much higher chance than someone who gets the proper amount of sleep. So what can be done to combat this problem? And how much sleep should I be getting?

There are a few different methods that people use to fight against this issue. Some can use sleeping pills, melatonin, CBN (the cannabinoid for sleep), though each one has their level of effectiveness. Though they can have their side effects, for example, if you take melatonin consistently, your body can build a tolerance to it after two years! When taking prescription sleeping pills over a long period of time, your body grows accustomed to the drug, and you need higher and higher doses to get the same sleep- inducing effect, just like melatonin. But, if you take a high enough dose, this could lead to depressed breathing while you sleep, which can cause death. So always be careful of that. We also have a blog on our website discussing the effects of CBN in your body, and how it helps with sleep in more detail. That compound being a safer option.

Generally, the amount of sleep you need depends on your age. Generally, this is the amount of sleep each age group needs:

Teens 13-18 need about 8-10 hours of sleep per 24 hours

Adults 18-60 need about 7 or more hours per night

Older adults, 65+ years need about 7 to 8 hours per night

So, what is an alternative method to getting better sleep? In this blog, we will be discussing how certain minerals can be used to help with sleep and keeping your body healthier. Today, we will be discussing Magnesium and Calcium specifically and how they interact with your body.

Calcium
Calcium is directly linked to our cycles of sleep. In one study, published in the European Neurology Journal, researchers discovered that calcium levels in the body are greater during some of the deepest levels of sleep, such as the rapid eye movement (REM) phase. The study determined that disturbances in sleep, especially the absence of REM deep sleep or disturbed REM sleep, are related to a calcium deficiency. Return to the normal course of sleep was attained after the stabilization of the blood calcium level. Calcium supports the brain use the amino acid tryptophan to manufacture the sleep-inducing substance melatonin. This explains why dairy products, which contain both tryptophan and calcium, are one of the top sleep-inducing foods.

Magnesium
In magnesium deficiency, chronic insomnia is one of the major, significant symptoms. Sleep is usually disturbed with frequent nighttime awakenings. On the other hand, a high magnesium, low aluminum diet has been shown to be correlated with deeper, less interrupted sleep. This was demonstrated in a study done by James Penland at the Human Nutrition Research Center in North Dakota. The study was titled “Effects of trace element nutrition on sleep patterns in adult women.” It’s crucial to note that a reasonable ratio of calcium and magnesium is important to overall health, and these two minerals should be taken together for best results. Magnesium is also able to help the body relax. This nutrient reduces stress and helps you sleep longer. You can get your needed dose of calcium and/or magnesium through supplements or through your day to day diet. Some more minerals that can be used for your health include Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin B, Vitamin E, Potassium, and even Chamomile (usually found it teas). These are a good way to continue helping your body sleep and will keep you healthier overall.

Depending on how you want to go about your treatment, there will always be options available to you no matter how hard it may be to sleep. If you are truly concerned with your health, make sure to check in with a medical professional.

Most women know the pain of period cramps. The pain can go from mildly annoying to absolutely unbearable, and we want to find a way to combat it. Most women take forms of pain killers to make the pain more bearable, but over time, your body can become more and more immune to it. What that means is that your body gets use to the medicine in your system and needs more and more as time goes on. Plus, taking pain killers long term can damage your liver or other organs in the body if you aren’t careful. Long-term painkiller abuse can lead to significant cardiovascular issues, heart attacks and heart disease. Stomach and intestinal issues can occur even after a day or two of taking painkillers. Painkiller abuse can lead to constipation, bloating, abdominal distention, bowel obstructions and hemorrhoids. Though taking them in emergencies or short term is not too dangerous, you always want to be careful with the amount you take. So, you may be asking, “What should I use instead? I need something to help the pain.” There are alternatives to try that are a lot safer to take long term, such as CBD. In this blog, we will discuss how CBD can be a better alternative to general pain killers and how to works in your body and brain receptors.

The Endocannabinoid system (ECS) is mostly active in pain control at the central nervous system level. It is also active in the peripheral systems preventing painful and itchy symptoms brought on by inflammation caused by all sorts of conditions. CBD is also able to modulate pain thresholds and slow the release of inflammatory molecules. This is the same exact way that Advil works! In fact, cannabinoids synergistically work with other body systems that regulate pain, working to get our bodies moving and feeling better faster. So, CBD arguably works. Some CBD users have found that full spectrum CBD products carrying a small amount of THC (0.3%) or broad spectrum has been extremely beneficial for treating pain while still benefitting from the “entourage effect” of all the different cannabinoids and terpenes working synergistically in the body. Our AHS 750 broad spectrum or our AHS 3000 full spectrum tinctures would be the best alternative for dealing with any pain or discomfort you may be experiencing while on your cycle.

When replacing Ibuprofen with CBD, the user will notice similar relief, without any of the negative health risks, plus the additional therapeutic and health benefits that come with CBD. If you are looking for a natural pain relieving remedy, then CBD may be your answer. Along with being good for anti- inflammatory purposes, it can also help with anxiety and mood balance. Aside from supporting a healthy
nervous system and reducing anxiety and depression, CBD is also able to increase your energy levels. This is helpful during periods because your body is achy and you want to rest, also feeling uncomfortable and sluggish. Luckily, CBD can help combat both the lack of energy, but also mood balancing. This is due to CBD’s ability to increase blood flow throughout the body. CBD interacts with the brain in a way where your brain is able to stabilize itself and—– Most women have unbearable cramps almost every single month, and it can be hard to function in day to day life.

CBD also interacts with the brain in a way that it can help maintain your general mood. During periods, some women experience mood swings that can come on suddenly and can’t help what they’re feeling in the moment. It’s hard to really know what to do during said moments, the hormones in our body get thrown off and you feel completely out of it, some months much more than others. Though CBD can
help you feel a little more control of yourself and how your body feels. CBD interacts with your brain receptors that controls things such as pain, mood, and even sleep, as mentioned before, and levels out the chemicals. Thus, when you take CBD, your mood may improve, and your entire body will feel better overall. Fun fact: it has been indicated that CBD produces the same effects as some other bipolar medication and antidepressants. Always consult your primary care physician before taking CBD.

Aches and pains happen to us all of the time. Sometimes it can be mild and other times it can feel unbearable. Either way, you shouldn’t have to be content with pain if you don’t have to. As our cream flyer says, “Life shouldn’t be a pain.” There are many ways to help relieve these aches as well, most people using pain killers or some type of medical cream. What if you want to try something more natural that isn’t an over the counter or prescribed medication? At AHS, we have potential solutions for you that can help with all of your aches and pains! Today we will be focusing on topical pains and what we can do to help you.

Let’s start with what CBD is. CBD, or Cannabidiol, is one of the many active compounds found in the cannabis plant. Luckily, CBD is non-psychoactive and has many of the same medical benefits as Tetrahydrocannabinol (aka THC), another active and more well-known compound thanks to its psychoactive properties. This compound being the one that gets you “high.” CBD allows you to take advantage of the healing benefits without leaving you with the inebriated feeling that often goes hand in hand with THC. There has also been research that has shown that CBD is a very powerful painkiller and has anti-inflammatory properties that help make internal and external pain much more
manageable. What’s also nice about this compound is that it is not addictive and very safe for you to take. Even if you take too much, at worst you will have a headache or diarrhea. Though when taking CBD for topical pain, those symptoms do not usually occur.

So why should I use CBD cream? What makes it so special is that with its anti-inflammatory properties, it can reduce the symptoms you may be experiencing on your skin. It can go through about four layers of skin to improve deeper pain you may be experiencing. CBD cream evades the CB1 and CB2 receptors and heads straight for a neurotransmitter middleman that blocks signals for pain and itch by working through agents called anandamide and 2-AG. Sidestepping the CB1 and CB2 receptors means that CBD can mute pain without the high sensation delivered by THC. CBD can significantly reduce intense pain, sharp pain, itchy sensations, and cold. Other research also suggests that topical CBD may be useful for treating joint and muscle pain associated with other conditions, such as migraines. Topical CBD may also benefit certain skin disorders. CBD cream has been shown to help with cases such as eczema and arthritis. Depending on what level of pain you may be having, we will surly have something that can help with your needs.

At AHS, we have two different creams that can help you with different levels of pain. We use a 1-10 scale to represent pain, for example, 1 would be the lightest amount of pain while 10 would be considered some of the worst pain you can experience. We have two different creams to accommodate both levels of pain. We have our 1500mg cream that would be good for pain that is a 5 or lower, and our 2500mg cream that is for 6 and higher levels of pain. Luckily, it’s very easy to apply to the skin as well! Our creams come with little spatulas that can help you scoop up a tiny bit of cream, a little bit can go a long way! You just apply a little bit to your affected area, and it will help elevate the pain within half an hour to an hour, depending on the person. Always be careful where you put the cream though, never put it near your eyes or near more sensitive areas of your body (such as genitalia.) Our 2500mg cream does contain menthol in it, so be warned if you either have an allergy or are sensitive to this ingredient. At AHS, we have many specialists and a nurse on staff who can answer any additional questions about CBD or how to take it if you are on any medications.

One of the better questions we have gotten is, “Is CBD oil allowed on planes?” The quick and simple answer to this question is “yes you can!” But there are still limits to what you can and can’t bring on to an airplane. Let’s discuss CBD, what you can and can’t bring with you on your next flight, and why you would bring it to begin with.

Many people fly from place to place for various reasons. Maybe you’re going on a well-earned vacation, or maybe you’re flying for a business trip. Whatever the reason may be, there are many people who reportedly have what’s called airplane anxiety. About 40% of the general population admits to having some fear of flying, about 2.5% of that group having a clinical phobia, meaning said person either avoids flying all together or does so with considerable distress. As with other situational phobias, the fear is almost always disproportionate to the danger posed. There are many people who take medications or use different techniques to help relieve their anxiety. But what if you could bring CBD with you? CBD, also known as Cannabidiol, is a chemical compound found in the cannabis or hemp plant. You may already know the compound THC, also known as Tetrahydrocannabinol, which comes from the same plant, except it causes a psychoactive effect. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, and brings many different healing properties. Those being the ability to reduce anxiety, pain, inflammation, stress,
depression, and many other conditions. CBD becomes valuable with airplane anxiety due to its anxiety and stress reducing properties. One of the better things you could use specifically for airplane anxiety would be our SoCal gummies that come in Peach Rings, Neon Rings, and Sour Bears. These gummies are specially made to help with anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, and mood balance. These gummies take about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to feel the effects, they make your body relax much easier and reduce the anxiety either entirely or to a much more manageable level. We also have our Kurativ CBD/CBG gummies that can help with the anxiety as well. Cannabigerol, or CBG, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid typically most abundant in low-THC and high- CBD cannabis strains, including hemp. Like THC, CBG reacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain. CBG is the inspiration for other cannabinoids. While CBD has a relatively low affinity for cannabinoid receptors and interacts mostly with the endocannabinoid system on an indirect basis, CBG is thought to interact directly with the brain’s CB1
and CB2 cannabinoid receptors. CBG works to fight inflammation, pain, nausea and works to slow the proliferation of cancer cells. CBG has been called ‘inactive’ when compared to THC, but it has slight similarity for CB1 receptors, approximately equal to that of CBD. Like CBD, it has painkilling and anti- inflammatory properties, indicating that there is scope for developing cannabinoid drugs that do not have the psychoactive properties of THC. Strains high in CBG will be beneficial treating conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, and Crohn’s disease. For Multiple Sclerosis, a 2014 study in mice said that CBG “has been shown to alleviate symptoms in a viral model of multiple sclerosis.” Remarkably, one of the few medical drugs that contains cannabinoids was approved as a treatment for neuropathic pain in patients with multiple sclerosis. CBG is a good cannabinoid to being with you because of all of its benefits, and it will especially help you with airplane anxiety.

Unlike something like THC, it is legal to take with you to most states in the USA. Though each state has their own rules and laws on CBD, even if it comes from a hemp plant. As of 2020, these ten US States forbid any type of marijuana-based CBD products: Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas. Though always look into wherever you may be going to see if CBD is or is not legal. Within the U.S., you can fly with CBD products that contain less than 0.3 percent THC. However, TSA rules very much apply, in that any liquids (oils, tinctures, creams) must be less than 3 ounces. You can bring a CBD vape pen through airport security in your carry-on, but not in your checked baggage.

Here are some website links that can give further information on where CBD is and is not legal, and what restrictions there are in each state:

A lot of us are familiar with CBD and THC and how they work. But there are still a lot of people who aren’t sure what the exact differences between the two are. It is a common misconception that they both have the same properties and effects, which just isn’t true. Let’s discuss both chemical compounds and see the similarities and differences between the two.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive chemical that comes from the cannabis plant that holds many medicinal properties. It can be used either topically or internally, depending on what you’re using it for. There are different CBD products that work better for different conditions, such as stress/anxiety and topical pains. Then we have THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the chemical responsible for most of
marijuana’s psychological effects. It acts much like the cannabinoid chemicals made naturally by the body, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). There are different forms of each, one of the most popular being gummies.

Although CBD and THC are both found in marijuana and interact with the endocannabinoid system, there are some significant differences a person should be aware of, despite both being cannabinoids, CBD and THC interact with slightly different receptors in a person’s brain. However, there is some variation in the uses of each substance. People typically use CBD to help with conditions such as: inflammatory bowl disease (IBS), seizures, depression, anxiety, inflammation (internal or external), migraines, and more. Then there is THC that can be used to potentially help the following: glaucoma, muscle spasms, low appetite, and insomnia. The general common ground that these two shares is that they are generally used for pain, anxiety, and nausea.

There are also side effects to each one, though generally THC has the more noticeable ones. CBD has been shown to have very few to no side effects overall. CBD is safe in large quantities, and the only potential side effects are likely the result of interactions with other medications a person may be taking, or a stomachache and diarrhea when taking too much. There are also the side effects of THC that most people are aware of: red eyes, slower response times, the general feeling of being high, issues with coordination, increased heart rate, etc. There are people who enjoy the feeling of being high, that being more relaxing to them, which is fine when you’re at home. There are many people who want to enjoy the benefits of THC, but do not want the feeling of being high or inebriated, which is why CBD is usually a better option if available. There are many states in North America have approved of people having at least partial use of medical marijuana. Each state differs slightly on how they classify and regulate the legal use, prescription, or sale of any form of marijuana. There is no federal law permitting the legal use of medical marijuana. Thus, it is illegal to use or prescribe medical marijuana in any state that doesn’t have a law allowing people to do so. Many states have authorized the use of marijuana for recreational purposes. As with medical marijuana, recreational usage is not legal federally. Laws surrounding the use of medical and recreational marijuana are changing rapidly. A person who is contemplating the using CBD or THC should check their local laws regularly as they may change or be changing.

So, depending on how you want to take either product, there’s always options that work best for you. At AHS, we have specialists and a nurse on staff who can answer any questions you may have on CBD, a condition you may have, or any other product we carry in our store. Always consult one of our specialists or your doctor if you’re on medication and would like to try CBD and check the legality of THC in your state before purchasing.
