One of the better questions we have gotten is, “Is CBD oil allowed on planes?” The quick and simple answer to this question is “yes you can!” But there are still limits to what you can and can’t bring on to an airplane. Let’s discuss CBD, what you can and can’t bring with you on your next flight, and why you would bring it to begin with.

Many people fly from place to place for various reasons. Maybe you’re going on a well-earned vacation, or maybe you’re flying for a business trip. Whatever the reason may be, there are many people who reportedly have what’s called airplane anxiety. About 40% of the general population admits to having some fear of flying, about 2.5% of that group having a clinical phobia, meaning said person either avoids flying all together or does so with considerable distress. As with other situational phobias, the fear is almost always disproportionate to the danger posed. There are many people who take medications or use different techniques to help relieve their anxiety. But what if you could bring CBD with you? CBD, also known as Cannabidiol, is a chemical compound found in the cannabis or hemp plant. You may already know the compound THC, also known as Tetrahydrocannabinol, which comes from the same plant, except it causes a psychoactive effect. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, and brings many different healing properties. Those being the ability to reduce anxiety, pain, inflammation, stress,
depression, and many other conditions. CBD becomes valuable with airplane anxiety due to its anxiety and stress reducing properties. One of the better things you could use specifically for airplane anxiety would be our SoCal gummies that come in Peach Rings, Neon Rings, and Sour Bears. These gummies are specially made to help with anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, and mood balance. These gummies take about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to feel the effects, they make your body relax much easier and reduce the anxiety either entirely or to a much more manageable level. We also have our Kurativ CBD/CBG gummies that can help with the anxiety as well. Cannabigerol, or CBG, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid typically most abundant in low-THC and high- CBD cannabis strains, including hemp. Like THC, CBG reacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain. CBG is the inspiration for other cannabinoids. While CBD has a relatively low affinity for cannabinoid receptors and interacts mostly with the endocannabinoid system on an indirect basis, CBG is thought to interact directly with the brain’s CB1
and CB2 cannabinoid receptors. CBG works to fight inflammation, pain, nausea and works to slow the proliferation of cancer cells. CBG has been called ‘inactive’ when compared to THC, but it has slight similarity for CB1 receptors, approximately equal to that of CBD. Like CBD, it has painkilling and anti- inflammatory properties, indicating that there is scope for developing cannabinoid drugs that do not have the psychoactive properties of THC. Strains high in CBG will be beneficial treating conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, and Crohn’s disease. For Multiple Sclerosis, a 2014 study in mice said that CBG “has been shown to alleviate symptoms in a viral model of multiple sclerosis.” Remarkably, one of the few medical drugs that contains cannabinoids was approved as a treatment for neuropathic pain in patients with multiple sclerosis. CBG is a good cannabinoid to being with you because of all of its benefits, and it will especially help you with airplane anxiety.

Unlike something like THC, it is legal to take with you to most states in the USA. Though each state has their own rules and laws on CBD, even if it comes from a hemp plant. As of 2020, these ten US States forbid any type of marijuana-based CBD products: Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas. Though always look into wherever you may be going to see if CBD is or is not legal. Within the U.S., you can fly with CBD products that contain less than 0.3 percent THC. However, TSA rules very much apply, in that any liquids (oils, tinctures, creams) must be less than 3 ounces. You can bring a CBD vape pen through airport security in your carry-on, but not in your checked baggage.

Here are some website links that can give further information on where CBD is and is not legal, and what restrictions there are in each state:

Anxiety, it’s something that a good percentage of us deal with at least a few times in our lives. We can have anxiety over almost anything, like an important decision that needs to be made at work, or a school project that needs to be done ASAP. Maybe you even get anxiety over being around other people. Either way, anxiety can affect so many different people, especially as of 2020/2021. According to a recent study, about 3.6 percent, or 264 million people around the world, have anxiety disorders. Within these numbers, there are different types of anxiety disorders, some cases more severe than others. While CBD can help with this condition, there is no proper “cure” for anxiety. Talk to your doctor or a licensed professional if you are experiencing conditions such as PTSD, OCD, Depression, or other conditions that have are having extreme effects on your day-to-day life.

For now, let’s dive into what CBD exactly is and what is the best way to take it to help you. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a type of cannabinoid, a chemical found naturally in cannabis (marijuana and hemp) plants. Early research is promising regarding the ability of CBD oil to help relieve anxiety. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), another type of cannabinoid, CBD doesn’t cause any feelings of intoxication or the “high” you may associate with cannabis. CBD is also known for its ability to relieve stress and anxiety in the brain. But how does that exactly work? Well, let’s start by talking about the human body and its many different receptors. CBD is thought to interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors. These receptors are mostly found in the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system, respectively. These receptors are part of our body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), this system in the brain is responsible for so many of our day-to-day functions. A few of these functions include mood, sleep, appetite, memory, etc. There is still a lot that is being discovered about this system in our bodies, what has been found out is amazing. We all have this ECS in our systems, even if you haven’t had any form of cannabis in your system. When we are born, this system in our brains is in a form of homeostasis, though over time it can become unbalanced. That’s where CBD can come in to help. The endocannabinoids can bind to either receptor, the effects that result depend on where the receptor is located and which endocannabinoid it binds to. The CB1 receptors are located in the brain and throughout the body, while CB2 receptors are found mostly in the immune and gastrointestinal system; although CB2 receptors are also found in the brain, they are not expressed quite as densely as CB1 receptors. We have another blog that goes deeper into this topic.

With this, how can CBD help with different levels of anxiety? At AHS, we have many different products that help with differing levels of anxiety. For example, our SoCal gummies (peach rings, neon rings, and sour bears) are an ingestible CBD that is good for on-the-go anxiety or stress. If you feel any precursors to an anxiety attack or know something that causes you stress is coming up, you can take a gummy and
it may help alleviate these symptoms within half an hour or so. This form of intake goes through your digestive system, which the CBD (also having anti-inflammatory properties) can also help with any stomach aches or pains you may be having. Another intake option would be a tincture/CBD oil that works throughout your entire body and more with your brain’s receptors. While gummies are good for anxiety you’re having in the moment, a tincture helps with overall anxiety and bodily care. You take the oil by leaving it under the tongue for about thirty seconds to a minute, allowing the CBD to enter into your blood stream faster. The CBD oil works best when taken in the morning and before bed so it can stay in your system longer. The tincture can help with overall health by putting your brain in homeostasis as mentioned before. It’s like putting part of your body at optimal settings, though if you’re having other medical conditions, always speak to your doctor before trying new treatments. For generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) says that CBD has been shown to reduce stress in animals such as rats. Study subjects were observed as having lower behavioral signs of anxiety. Their physiological symptoms of anxiety, such as increased heart rate, also improved. CBD may also benefit people with other forms of anxiety, such as social anxiety disorder (SAD) and post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It may help treat anxiety-induced insomnia as well. In 2011, a study researched CBD’s effects on people with SAD. Participants were given an oral dose of 400 milligrams (mg) of CBD or a placebo. Those who received CBD experienced overall reduced anxiety levels.

If you take any medications, or have any questions on how you should take CBD, we have many specialists and a nurse on staff at AHS who can help with whatever you may need.

We all get aches and pains; some people get it more often than others. But what do you do when that pain lasts longer than expected? Usually we take prescription medication, which can be what you need sometimes. But what if you are tired of the prescriptions or have been on them for what feels like forever? Well today, we are going to take a look at CBG and how it can help alleviate pain in your body. But before going into that, let us take a quick dive into what CBG is exactly.

While CBD has a relatively low affinity for cannabinoid receptors and interacts mostly with the endocannabinoid system on an indirect basis, CBG is thought to interact directly with the brain’s CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors. CBG works to fight inflammation, pain, nausea and works to slow the proliferation of cancer cells. CBG has been called ‘inactive’ when compared to THC, but it has slight similarity for CB1 receptors, approximately equal to that of CBD. Like CBD, it has painkilling and anti-inflammatory properties, indicating that there is scope for developing cannabinoid drugs that do not have the psychoactive properties of THC.

Now that we have a better idea of CBG, let’s examine how it can help with reducing pain. Inflammation is regularly a contributor or a symptom, and where there’s inflammation, there’s pain and other health problems. The most fascinating aspect of CBG is that it is a powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroprotectant. Amazingly, according to research, CBG has shown the ability to regulate the release of GABA –– a neurotransmitter that helps calm pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and panic disorders. In fact, CBG regulates GABA far greater than THC and CBD do, and scientists suggest that it may be used as a muscle relaxant for people with spasms. Though, as well as CBG can work, it, like many other cannabinoids, work best when paired with CBD. Like CBD, CBG is completely non-psychoactive. So, it will not get you “high,” but will rather offer your body a much more calming effect.

There is no denying that high-quality CBG products, especially when combined with quality CBD, may be the answer you’re seeking. As with any natural supplement, CBG and CBD are not “cure-all” molecules, and should not be used to diagnose, treat, or cure health conditions and diseases. So, we understand why you may be hesitant to try it because of that, but it’s at least worth trying if you want to get off prescription medications and want to try a more natural solution.

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults age 18 and older. According to Gallup & #39;s 2019 data on emotional states, 55% Americans experience stress during the day. Everyone experiences stress and anxiety at one time or another.

The difference between them is that stress is a response to a threat in a situation and anxiety is a reaction to the stress. Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, or nervous.

Anxiety is an intense, excessive, and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Fast heart rate rapid breathing, sweating, and feeling tired often occur. Treatment for persistent stress and anxiety include psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, meditation, and prescribed medications.

Medications used to treat anxiety and stress include Sertraline, Escitalopram, Fluoxetine, Buspirone, Venlafaxine, Duloxetine, Diazepam, Lorazepam, Pregabalin, Alprazolam and Clonazepam. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include dizziness, insomnia, nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, sweating, tremors, sexual problems, headaches, constipation, vison changes, anxiety, weakness, vomiting, depression, hallucinations, aggression and skin rash.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects. Studies show that CBD may be effective in alleviating anxiety and could help reduce stress without the negative side effects of prescribed medications. Researchers concluded that endocannabinoids influence
stress and emotion responses because there are cannabinoid receptors in the brain.

Studies currently suggest that CBD counters anxiety by stimulating neurotransmitter systems and neural regeneration. CBD specifically binds to 5-HT1A which is thought to have the strongest role in anxiety disorders. Your body naturally produces cannabinoids, which are used throughout your body and brain in the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

This system can become dysregulated under chronic stress. However, CBD could help restore balance to the ECS by
preventing overstimulation of your CB1 receptors and by boosting your body’s production of endocannabinoids.

If your anxiety levels are at a & lt;1/5 our AHS 1500mg Tincture can be taken sublingually along with the SoCal 300mg Gummies.

If your anxiety levels are at a & gt;5/10 you can take the Miller Healer 2000mg tincture sublingually along with the Kurativ 1000mg CBD & CBG Gummies.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new regimen.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions you may have regarding CBD.
