There are many ways to ingest CBD, each way has their own benefits. Such as gummies and tincture. These two are the most popular ways to consume CBD due to how easily accessible these options are. Each one has a unique use, and today we will be discussing what each one would be used for, and which one would be best for you!

Please know that at AHS, all of the staff tests the products before they are put on to our shelves to make ensure it works as intended and is safe to consume. Employees are able to give recommendations based on their own experience or the experience of other clients who have also taken the products.

Gummies

Gummies are a tasty way to get your daily dose of CBD! But what are the exact benefits of taking it in this form? Well, let’s use our SoCal Yummy Gummies as an example. They are used for anxiety, stress, depression, mood balance, sleep, etc. With gummies, they have a set dosing, such as 25mg per gummy and 750mg for a whole container, this allows you to have a very exact knowledge of your dosing. Gummies can be taken any time of day when you’re feeling an onset of symptoms. For example, if you had anxiety and you felt the heart palpitations and overwhelming stress, you would be able to take a gummy and feel relief in about 30-45 minutes. Depending on the level of your symptoms/condition, this would determine the gummy that would be recommended and the dosing. You feel the relief of this product for about 4-6 hours, but this can depend on the person.

Tincture

CBD oil, also known as tincture, is another good method to ingest CBD. Tincture can help with many conditions and overall care. This would be taken as follows: you would fill the dropper to your recommended dosing (the droppers we carry have markers that show how much you are taking, a full dropper being 1ML), put said amount under your tongue for 30 seconds, and swallow. The flavors are more limited, though what we have is a minty flavor that is easy on the tastebuds. What makes the oil so special is that it is much stronger than the gummies and stay in your body much longer due to going through your bloodstream (via under the tongue.) We carry bottles that contain 750mg, 1500mg,
2000mg, and 3000mg. The dosing can look like this: 50mg in the morning and 25mg at night, we do morning and night because the oil stays in your body for about 12 hours at a time. So, with taking it both times of the day, you get a full 24-hour coverage. But with this comes higher risk. If clients are taking medications, such as blood pressure or heart medication, we recommend spacing them two hours a part, so they don’t interact. This is an issue because the CBD can raise the dosing of these medications in your body, which can be dangerous. But don’t fret! We have professionals on staff along with a nurse who are able to help dose you safely if you want to give it a try.

Depending on your condition, there is always a product for you! At AHS, we provide free consultations if you have any questions about your condition or if you want recommendations. We provide products for sleep, anxiety, stress, topical pains, internal pain, and more!

Cannabidiol, better known as CBD, is one of over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis which causes the sensation of being “high” that’s often associated with marijuana. However, unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. This quality makes CBD an appealing option for those who are looking for relief from pain and other symptoms without the mind-altering effects of marijuana or certain pharmaceutical drugs.

How Does it Work?

CBD and THC interact with our bodies in a variety of ways. One of them is by mimicking the effects of the compounds in our bodies called endogenous cannabinoids. These cannabinoids are part of what scientists refer to as the endocannabinoid system. This system plays a crucial role in regulating a broad range of physiological processes that affect how we experience pain, stress, sleep, and more.

CBD Benefits

This fascinating plant is gaining tremendous momentum in the health and wellness world since many people are seeking

alternatives to pharmaceuticals with harsh side effects. Extensive scientific research highlights CBD’s potential as a way to relieve a wide range of symptoms, conditions, and ailments such as, but not limited to:

Autoimmune diseases (inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis,lupus)

Neurological conditions (Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke)

Metabolic syndrome (diabetes, obesity)

Mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, PTSD)

Gut disorders (colitis, Crohn’s)

Sleep problems

Chronic pain

Best Ways to Take CBD

Ingest It Orally

If you’ve never taken CBD before, ingesting it is an easy place to start. Here are some ways you can ingest it:

Tincture, also known as CBD Generally, it’s consumed it by placing it under your tongue and holding it there for up to a minute. Some people use it in their food or add a few drops to their favorite smoothie recipe. It’s also easy to adjust your dose by adding or subtracting a few drops, and it might work a little faster

Capsules or soft You’re probably familiar with and maybe already using capsules and pills, so taking CBD this way won’t feel too different. Plus, monitoring dosage is easy with capsules since they come in pre-measured sizes. Capsules can take 45 minutes or longer to work themselves into your system and may last for several hours

Chewable gummies: These small, tasty, tidbits can be found in

a variety of flavors and sizes yet still pack a CBD punch. Gummies are a perfect way to combat stress, anxiety, sleep, and sometimes nausea. This route can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes to kick in

Topical Application

If you are mostly looking to try CBD for muscle aches and pains, a topical application (the one you put on your body, not in your mouth) can be a good option. Topical products can be applied using different methods such as:

Topical creams: used for acute/chronic pain, muscle aches, joint pain, neuropathy, and more

Topical patches are a discreet way to use They may help with pain, inflammation, stress, and anxiety

In Conclusion

Hopefully, you now feel more informed about the potential CBD benefits to your life, even if it’s just taking CBD as a daily supplement to keep your body and mind in optimum health.

Although CBD is still being researched, we still have a long way to go until it receives the recognition it deserves.

There are approximately 50 million people in America who are addicted to some type of nicotine product, including cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco and nicotine vape. Nicotine addiction is the most common addiction in America.

According to statistics, more than 1 billion of the world’s population are smokers with a case of death occurring every 6 seconds due to nicotine related issues.

The effects of and addiction to smoking are manifested in the brain through the pleasure principle. Within seconds of smoking or vaping nicotine, the drug travels to the brain and activates the receptors to release the pleasure hormone, dopamine. Dopamine produces a calm and happy sensation, reducing stress and anxiety levels. It doesn’t take long for the brain to start associating pleasure with the memory of nicotine intake, but these sensations are short-lived.

During this process, the number of nicotinic receptors in the brain increase, progressively requiring higher amounts of nicotine to get the same effect. This is known as tolerance after which addiction shortly follows.Withdrawal happens when the body cleanses itself of the drug, and the stress and anxiety return making you crave another smoke. If the addiction is strong, you may feel restless, irritable, depressed, and anxious. This is known as withdrawal syndrome.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound known for its potential therapeutic effects.According to research CBD may alleviate the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal to help detoxing run smoothly. CBD acts as apotential aid in managing depressionby activating the brain’s 5-HT1A receptor, which boosts the availability of serotonin in a similar way to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants.

CBD may also help reduce the stress, anxiety, and irritability associated with attempts to quit nicotine. More than just elevating mood, CBD may help reduce some of the physical symptoms of quitting nicotine. Studies show that CBD may be able to reduce the headaches and other pains experienced when giving up nicotine because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

People who find it difficult to go to sleep at night without nicotine may find it easier to fall asleep with CBD. CBD has been found to help people reach and maintain restful, restorative sleep without the unwanted effects often associated with prescription sleep aids. For those who need nicotine to get moving in the morning, you’ll be relieved to hear that CBD, when taken in small doses, may havean energizing effect.

There are many CBD products that can help alleviate nicotine withdrawals. A 1500mg, 2000mg or 3000mg tincture can be taken sublingually to help with depression, headaches and insomnia.

Our AHS 1500mg or 2500mg custom cream can be applied topically to help with headaches and insomnia. 300mg CBD infused gummies and 1000mg CBD vape would work great for reducing anxiety and insomnia.

Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment. Our team is always available to answer any questions regarding CBD.

Glaucoma is common in certain dog breeds that are genetically predisposed, such as Samoyeds, Cocker Spaniels, Poodles, Chow Chows, and Siberian Huskies. Unfortunately, 40 percent of dogs affected by Gluacoma will become blind in the affected eye within the first year, regardless of medical or surgical treatment.

Glaucoma is a condition in which pressure is placed on the eye, causing inadequate fluid drainage. There are two main types of Glaucoma, primary and secondary. Primary Glaucoma is caused by the eye’s inability to drain through the filtration angles and is characterized by high pressure within the eye, dilated pupil, cloudy appearance in the eye, enlargement of the eye and vision loss.

Secondary Glaucoma is caused by eye infections and is characterized by inflammatory debris visible in the eye, constricted pupil, sticking of the iris to cornea or lens, headaches and loss of appetite. Treatment for Glaucoma in pets include different types of optical surgeries and prescribed medications.

Medications used to treat Canine Glaucoma include Betaxolol, Methazolamide, Pilocarpine, Latanoprost and Mannitol. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include headache, dizziness, insomnia, gastrointestinal disturbance, tachypnea, vomiting, diarrhea, increased salivation, increased urination, coughing, and pulmonary edema. CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive chemical compound derived from the hemp plant known for its potential therapeutic effects.

Studies found that CBD may be able to reduce intraocular pressure in dogs with glaucoma as well as help protect some cells in the eye against glaucoma.

CBD may also help manage the pain and discomfort caused by Canine Glaucoma since it contains natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. The SoCal Hemp co tincture can be given to your dog to help alleviate symptoms of Glaucoma. Dosing will depend on your dog’s weight, dogs 1lb to 60lbs would use the 600mg tincture and dogs 61lbs to 150lbs would use the 1200mg tincture. Always consult your Veterinarian before starting your furry friend on a new treatment.

Our team of specialists are always available to provide you with education and assist you with any questions regarding CBD.

An estimated 8 to 11 percent of the population are affected by spinal stenosis, and it’s most common in baby boomers over 50. Spinal stenosis is a condition that stems from the irregular narrowing of a person’s spine, putting a sense of pressure on the nerves located in the back.

Spinal stenosis is characterized by aggravated pain and inflammation that can lead to numbness and muscle weakness. There are two primary forms of spinal stenosis that exist. Cervical stenosis primarily occurs in the part of the spine in a person’s neck, whereas lumbar stenosis occurs in the portion of the spine near one’s lower back.

Treatment for this condition includes physical therapy, corrective surgery and prescribed medications. Medications used to treat spinal stenosis include Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Gabapentin and Pregabalin. Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, bruising, skin rash, ringing in the ears, memory loss, viral infections, tremors and weight gain.

CBD may help alleviate the symptoms of spinal stenosis like pain, inflammation, spasms and anxiety without the negative side effects of prescribed medication. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a bodily system comprised of endocannabinoids, or neurotransmitters, that are responsible for sending signals to other systems in the body.

When a person experiences a condition that induces chronic states of pain, such as spinal stenosis, the receptor expression in the ECS is altered. The best way to counteract the discomfort and inflammation provoked by spinal stenosis is to influence the levels of endocannabinoids present in one’s ECS.

Our AHS 1500mg tincture can be taken sublingually along with our AHS 2500mg cream that can be applied topically to help reduce the symptoms of spinal stenosis. Always consult your primary care physician before starting a new treatment.

Approximately 7.5 million adults in the United States are affected by Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a long-term mental disorder that is characterized by a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior. Symptoms of Schizophrenia include delusions, hallucinations, speech abnormalities, memory and concentration issues, disorganized behavior and lack of motivation.

Treatment for Schizophrenia include psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, specialty coordinated care and prescribed Antipsychotic medications. Medications for Schizophrenia include Chlorpromazine, Fluphenazine, Haloperidol, Perphenazine, Thioridazine, Thiothixene and Trifluoperazine.

Each prescribed medication contains negative side effects that include weight gain, sexual problems, drowsiness, dizziness, restlessness, dry mouth, constipation, nausea, blurred vision, low blood pressure, seizures and low white blood cell count. Most complete studies of CBD have been in Schizophrenia as an additional treatment on top of standard medications and therapies.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common entrapment neuropathy, affecting approximately 3-6 percent of adults in the general population. Carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway in the wrist, about an inch wide. The floor and sides of the tunnel are formed by small wrist bones called carpal bones. The carpal tunnel protects the median nerve and flexor tendons that bend the fingers and thumb. Common symptoms include tingling or numbness. You may experience tingling and numbness in your fingers or hand.

Usually the thumb and index finger, middle or ring fingers are affected. Treatments include icing your wrist or soak in bath for 10-15 minutes, using a wrist splint, and taking medication such as NSAIDs and muscle relaxers. Along with using medication comes the long-term use complications and side effects which cause people to steer clear of pharmaceuticals all together and find a more natural remedy.

CBD is a non- toxic cannabis compound that possesses significant medical benefits without the psychoactive effects present in THC. CBD is a natural remedy for inflammation in soft tissues, for nerve damage and for joint pain- all associated with carpal tunnel syndrome.

CBD works wonders to provide relief due to chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Our AHS 1500mg tincture, 2000mg Miller Healer tincture, and AHS topical salve creams are perfect for those who are struggling to find relief for carpal tunnel and many other medical conditions.

Our team of specialists as well as our nurse on staff are always ready to help educate and assist you with anything CBD.
